Arboreal Retreat
« on: September 20, 2014, 11:28:12 PM »
Item name:   Arboreal retreat
By (origin ID):  Playalot2002
Hashtags:   carlsguide

Lot size 20x30
Furnished price $40,211

Bedrooms: 1
bathroom: 1

What can I say... a tree house!

The sitting room/dining room/kitchen

The bedroom with access out onto the back deck

The back

The bathroom

A night time shot.

And an over view

The hole in the middle is obviously where the tree is and in game (as in some of these photos) it disappears which is quite handy as otherwise it is a bit hard to see into the rooms!

That's awesome. How did you do it without a supporting ground floor?

That looks so cool! I need one in my game. I really like how it looks as if it's floating. I can't really do that kind of stuff when I try to build, no matter how simple it seems. .–.
I love how with the Sims 4 it's easy for people like me who can't build to have cool unique homes like this one in their games. :)

That's awesome. How did you do it without a supporting ground floor?

It's easy to do, just build the bottom floor, a simple box shape. Then the second floor (the floating floor). Then delete the first floor.
The bottom floor is really there just to get you started on the actual height you want for the tree house, so, in theory, if you could find a tree tall enough, you could have a 'third story' treehouse.
In build mode, once you've got a start at whatever height you want, you actually don't need to have support. In fact you can build floating/levitating houses too. I built a spaceship but it looked a bit corny so that's when I thought about a treehouse instead!

@ ManiSims, I bet you could do this! Building in TS4 is really fun. I used to build a lot in TS3 but would often get frustrated because I had placed the house in the wrong spot on the plot, now we can just move the whole house and continue on without having to start all over again. Start by watching some build videos, The Sims Supply has a few, and just start playing. What I do is really basic but it's fun. There are so many talented people here on the forum who will answer any questions you've got too.  :)

Haha, I've just always been more of an interior decorator. I have gotten a lot better at exteriors in TS4, and looking at a lot of the Building threads around here has inspired me to experiment a bit more. :)
