The Almighty Lump of Clay
« on: October 07, 2014, 06:39:51 PM »
This might be interesting to mention in the emotions guide.

Playing with the lump of clay will give sims an inspired moodlet that lasts 4 hours, but it has another benefit: the resulting shapes in clay can have an emotional aura. A weak one, but still enough to instill a specific emotion. The list of emotions, taken from the tuning file, is:

Playful:
- Llama
- Ripped (no idea what this is supposed to be)

Energized:
- Teapot
- Stalks (I believe this is the ball of clay with three sticks across, saw a photo but never had a sim create it)

Focused:
- Grid (no idea what it looks like)
- Geometric (I guess this is the star-like shape, it does give a focused aura)

Inspired:
- Bust

No mood, just a small environment bonus:
- Bunny
- Eiffel Tower
- Bowl

Thanks. I haven't used that item yet, but will have a look at it later today :)

Oh, thanks for sharing. I might actually let my sims play with it now. They seem to get 'drawn' to it over everything else!  ::) Least now I actually know what it's doing.

Just edited the Guide to include this as another possibility for Emotional Auras. I am glad there are options for people without those lamps, that are spoiling me.. Of course, it takes 13 lamps to get a +3 Environmental boost, and that looks a little ridiculous so some variety is nice :)

I just found out why I wasn't able to create all shapes: the shapes depend on the emotion the sim is feeling. Since I did nearly all my clay modeling in my Inspiration room, I was severely limited in which shapes I created.

The list of shapes that can be created according to mood is: (unshaped means the original blob, which does not instill emotion nor have an environment score)

If Fine: Bunny, Llama, Stalks, Bowl, or unshaped
If Playful: Bunny, Llama, Grid, or Stalks
If Flirty: Bust, Tower, or Grid
If Confident: Bust, Bunny, Llama, or Stalks
If Focused: Bust, Geometric, Teapot, or Tower
If Inspired: Bunny, Geometric, Teapot, Tower, or Bust
If Happy: Bunny, Llama, Stalks, or Bowl
If Energized: Bunny, Geometric, Teapot, Llama, Bust, or Tower.
If Angry: Stalks, Bowl, Ripped, or unshaped
If Bored: Bunny, Stalks, or unshaped
If Tense: Stalks, Bowl, or Ripped
If Sad: Stalks, Bowl, or unshaped
If Embarrassed: Bunny, Stalks, Bowl, Llama, or unshaped
If Dazed: Grid, Stalks, or Ripped
If Uncomfortable: Bunny, Stalks, Bowl, Llama, or unshaped
