NO clerk at resort, cant check into a room??

I am having a problem trying to check into a room at the Sparkling sand resort. I can click on the computer at the front desk and it gives me all the room options to choose from but when I click any choice my sim just stands there and waits. No one ever comes to check her into a room and eventually the command disappears from the screen. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

Have you tried:

resetsim *

Then send your sim back a day later, it should work!
