House full but can still invite sims to move in
« on: June 02, 2015, 10:19:25 PM »
So despite having 8 sims in my house I still keep getting the option to invite other sims to move in! Is this a recent bug or is this just me? Lol

It's not just you, haha. I think this option is available because you can switch sims into their household with the move in option, so technically with that mechanic you could move them in. Maybe it's a bug, but I'm glad it's there either way, because I know I'd be frustrated if I needed it and it wasn't.

@officialghosts , nice to know it's not just me! Maybe the option has always been there with a full house and I've just not noticed it before!  :o

@Playalot Could be. Only very recently have I been playing with a full house in game, so if the option's been around a while I couldn't tell you. ::)

So, if you actually do the move in option with a full house, do you get to move them in making it a larger household or does it either not work or remove a Sim to make room?
What?  Grannies can't play games?

I don't know as I've only noticed this recently in both my dynasty files. That and try for baby too despite having 8 sims already. Weird. I guess I could save my dynasty as another name and try to see what happens but I was hoping that someone here would have the answer. I'm always a bit loathed to triple save a dynasty.

I just saw this yesterday in my game and was wondering what would happen.  I have a YA who wants to marry her BFF.  I wouldn't mind if it offered to split the household and let you place the extra sim(s) into a new home.  I will try today.  Too curious now  :o

I done a little experimenting with this. I made a full house hold and made friends with someone and got the invite to move in option. I invited them to move in and the move box came up. I could select them and move them to my household but the check mark to confirm was greyed out so I couldn't have nine in the house.
But I could then select someone already in my household and transfer them to the other house making it a 8 sim household again and could then confirm the action.
I also tried with my household having 8 sims and the target household also having 8 sims. Again I could invite someone to move in and transfer them to my house but couldn't confirm the action without move someone from my house to the other house. Keeping both household to 8 sims.
So you can invite someone in with a full house but you have to move some else to the other house to move them in.
And if the sim you choose move to the other house is the active sim then that house will become the active household.
I hope this helps some.

@grimsoul , totally helps! Thanks. Did you get the 'try for baby' option coming up too even though you had eight sims in the house?

I didn't try the try for baby part. I just made friends with them to try and move them in. I didn't get into the romantic part of it. :) I just started a new game and grabbed a couple full households from the gallery to test with so everyone was strangers.

@grimsoul  Aw, thanks for going to the trouble of testing that.  :) That's awesome.
