What a bonus! Just discovered this with my vamp kid, she's skilling up like no-one's business. She started writing and then up popped Master of the Arts as her lifetime skill, in two nights it was done, loads of lovely lifetime happiness points and she gets her award thru the post each time which is worth 1,000 simoleans, so now she's rich too!!!

Wow. Normally I don't play children OR vampires, but this could change my opinion entirely. I'm gonna have to make a vampire child an Illustrious Author!

Just to be clear here :

EA tuning default is to have Vampires gain skill at "2" times as fast as a normal sim.

Just a warning for any purists out there who prefer not to use bugs/cheats to get ahead :

- If you are seeing skill gain faster than that, you are actually encountering a known EA error added with the Late Night Patch.

Cheers. :)

From what I have heard, the exponential learning rates of born vampires has been fixed.  I cannot confirm or deny this, as I haven't played a vampire since before this was reportedly corrected.

That LTW is incredibly easy to achieve, even without this bug.  It's incredibly profitable, too.   ;)

Well, that's good to hear, provided it is indeed corrected. :)

I will admit, my information is a little stale on the subject, since I have relied on a fix for the issue for quite some time now, and haven't seen any reason to test without it in place.

It was one of the first things I tried after Patch 1.26 (I think, might've been 1.29), and the process of using a vampire child (I had both of the parents be vampires) didn't work.

That's interesting - but I have a hard time playing one vampire since she kept dying (i.e. in her SLEEP and she never wakes up to drink her vamp juice) - kind of annoying after a few times.   I was playing the other members of the family and all the sudden got pulled back to see the grim reaper.    That's one of the sims I imported form previous games, level 10 fisherman. :)  Gains 20k money a day (now it's less because she can only fish at night time).

I was playing my family of vampires and I thought that when they turned young adult, their skill learning slowed down.  That is not the case with these born vampires.  I had my sim start playing chess at 4pm, with no logic skills and by 8pm, she had all 10.  I even took a video of it, lol.  I guess I had to have something to do.

I just didn't realize they still skilled that fast. :)

Makes you wonder why the other Vamps are so far behind in their skills when you ask them to move in. Had triplets as a vampire and Mommy  (a Rock Star), started a band with them when they became young adults.

So, is that still happening then?

Adult vampires have always skilled very fast.  I never heard that it was a bug or anything, so I figure it's going to keep on being that way.

Yes, the fact that vampires skill at twice the normal rate is EA Standard.

I believe Hosfac is concerned that the "ever accumulating skill gain multiplier" bug we were referring to earlier, is still around.

I do know that at night time all vampires gain skills faster because they get the "Night Vigor" moodlet and causes them to gain skills fast. I did that with the Mixology Lifetime wish and was able to finish my mixology skill then buy a bar.

Yes, this I do know about.

However, there was (and possibly is still) a bug where a Sim that is born a vampire will raise skills at an obscene pace, even during the day.  My first vampire child went from 0 to 10 Painting in about 3-4 hours, 0 to 10 Logic in about 3-4 hours (no peg box training as a toddler), and 0 to 10 photography after snapping 3 pictures.  She 3 skill related traits (Genius, Artistic, Virtuoso) and got the Lifetime Wish, Renaissance Sim, shortly after aging up from a toddler (as in not even a teenager yet)...and she started on it and completed it one Saturday afternoon before bedtime.  I'm not exaggerating here, even in the slightest.

As I posted this earlier, you are absolutely right.  Mine is doing it at an extremely fast pace.  Usually my youths have the LTW already fulfilled.  In my opinion, they seem to skill faster than they use to and I have played alot of vampires families.
