Vampire Children learn skills FAST

My BF made a vampire couple who had a child.  It was born in game and has the traits genius, ambitious, and brave.

I first noticed something different when the child went to "practice chess" and mastered the logic skill in one night's time.  I figured it was because he had the genius trait and he was learning at night.  Then, as I was watching my BF play, his vamp child mastered writing using the "practice writing" skill in the middle of the day in under three sim hours.

I was curious, so I set him a test.  I set the child at an easel and told him to paint one large painting.  Once again, it was in the middle of the day.  The child mastered painting in about 2 1/2 sim hours, before he had even halfway finished the painting.  

I set him in front of the blocks to see if he would gain handiness the same way.  Again, during the day, not at night.  He went through three levels with the blocks in about 15 sim minutes.  

My final test was to set him in front of the inventing table and use the "dabble" interaction.  Just like with painting, he mastered the skill before he had even finished inventing anything!

Has anyone else noticed crazy gains in skills with vampire children?  It doesn't seem to matter about traits, or what time of day, this little boy is the fastest learner that I have ever seen (and he doesn't have the fast learner LTR or any others)!  I'd love to know if this is across the board, or just a crazy glitch I hope is never fixed!

Before Late Night came out one of the teasers was that all vampires would gain skills faster.

I noticed the same thing! Vampires learn fast, but my vampire child learned the writing skill to level 10 before finishing her first book! I haven't been back on my game to test any other skills yet but I couldn't believe it!

Uhhh... Maybe you have to catch vampire fishes?
No, really. I have no idea. Maybe it's because there are animals involved where you have to wait before they bite. A painting can be done straight. Does it even make sense?

Btw, how is it possible that I am reading here about vampire activity at bright daylight? Don't those daywalkers have to be counting sheeps in their coffins when the sun comes up anymore?

I agree with Leto (I think, not quite sure) on the fishing. The way the skill is set up, you get large bursts of experience whenever you catch a fish and very little (or none) the rest of the time. So the vampires fast learning rates wouldn't make you skill so quickly, because there is no base rate to begin with. You should see if the same thing happens with Photography, since it is similar to fishing.

Btw, how is it possible that I am reading here about vampire activity at bright daylight? Don't those daywalkers have to be counting sheeps in their coffins when the sun comes up anymore?

They can be out during the day, but they get good sized negative moodlets from it.  They also start to smoke and spark.  Most vampires around town that you don't control are too stupid to get out of the sun and run around like any other Sim.

On daywalking, pre-YA vampire sims are entirely immune to the sun.

You should see if the same thing happens with Photography, since it is similar to fishing.

My Vampire teen read the Photography book at night and went from level 1 to level 3 very quickly.  He had the second type of camera, took only 3 pictures out in his mother's garden and went straight to level 10.  It really surprised me  when I saw that happen.  He is much slower learning to fish or to garden.

Another nice feature about Vampire children is that they can do everything a regular Sim child can including be out in the sun.  They start having problems when they get all their Vampire attributes when they become YA.
