Imaginary Friend will NOT become real

I get a rainbow gem thing and send it to the science place. It says I have to go to the science place with 4500 simoleons and I can make my imaginary friend real, but I can never do it. The star is there on the map and if I click it the same thing comes up as it would normally. This has happened in different worlds and has happened multiple times for me. It is really frustrating and I hope it will work soon, Thanks.

Sorry for the late response, but does the Science building in your town double as a hospital? If so, that's likely the issue. Such buildings often have trouble with opportunities. Unfortunately I don't think there's a solution aside from deleting that lot and and placing separate science and hospital buildings.
