Selling Paintings On Easles Around the World
« on: December 26, 2015, 10:22:58 PM »
So I noticed today that my sim had the option to 'sell to collector' and paintings that a townie had painted on the easels that are scattered around Windenburg.

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm hoping it isn't just a glitch with my file but that it is something EA ninja patched in as a fix.  :)

If I have a homeless sim...I can build him a mansion soon after diligently selling off the paintings everyday.

You totally can Indira lol I have two club members who paint a lot of masterpieces and have made my sim quite wealthy!

So, update on selling to collector: it must have been some weird bug with that particular file as the in the new game I started today I do not have that option and the paintings are still just stuck on easels around the world, worse luck.

Hi. I have noticed that it takes about 1 Sim day before the paitings become sellable to collector, or can be added to my Sim's inventory. Until then, I can't do anything with them - other than frame them.

Ooooo cool info @simgurl6207 I'm now off to start another test file and see if I can get this to happen. Thanks for posting. :)

I can only "sell to collector" when a Sim in my active household painted it.  I saw a painting in Windenburg a while ago that one of my main Sims extended family members painted, and I would really like to add it to my Sims' home.  How do I do that?  That would be so cool! 8)

Gosh, this is an old thread. I should have come back to it! Basically you can only sell paintings that sims other than your own have painted on an easel, if your sim does not need to go through a loading screen from their home lot to get to the easel.

Umm.. did that make sense?

It makes sense, but what about if the Sim does not have to go through a loading screen --- but maybe, you meant that to since the painting is not on the Sim's home lot, then, they have to go through a loading screen to get to Windenburg, etc.

My Sim wanted to get her mother's painting from a lot in Windenburg.  It was in front of my Parisian Cafe, but did not require my Sim to go through a loading screen.  It was in front of a fountain.  She can paint at a level 10, anyway, but I really liked her mother's painting.

Yes, I was referring to the easels scattered around in Windenburg. I knew I had left something important out of that post.

As long as your sim can walk/jog to the painting without encountering a loading screen you can sell the other sims paintings from the easel which then basically empties the easel so your sim can use it.

(Lack of sleep is the issue for me, functioning on about 3 hours...  :-\ )

That's good to know.  Maybe my Sim can get her mother's painting outside my cafe in Windenburg.

Don't worry about it.  Wow, I don't like only getting 3 hours of sleep, either!
