Tiberium doesn't Grow
« on: November 24, 2010, 10:58:50 AM »
I know that spire cut Tiberium will grow into large one.
However, the spire cut Tiberium doesn't grow in Bridgeport.  ???

P.S. I got only one Tiberium and this is not caused by more than one Tiberium placed together.
Now I realize playing the Sims 3 on Mac is playing the game of installation and uninstallation...

Did you get your tiberium from the Consignment shop?  I've had problems with Consignment store tiberium not growing.

It also seems to need to be placed 1-2 squares away from all other objects, not just from another Tiberium.

In general, Tiberium needs to travel to a different country and back before it will grow.  Take it to a foreign land and carry it in your inventory.  Once you start getting Tiberium nausea it is ready to start growing.  I have found placing it on the ground helps it to grow.  For me it did not want to grow while on a table top.

I've had tiberium grow before that hadn't been abroad - I've only ever obtained tiberium from breaking boards using martial arts skill, and have done that completely on my home lot, sent the tiberium off for cutting, and then left it in the garden to grow. I haven't tried in Bridgeport though (or actually in any town since getting Late Night).

Both ways are true.  A Tiberium will grow if your Sim travels with it (usually one found in a foreign country) or if you have it cut to either heart cut or a small spire cut, then set it out with enough space to grow to a large spire cut.  It does not have to be put in a garden.

I never use to have problems with tiberium either, this sim has had a small spire cut in his inventory forever and it has set out for sim days and days too and still has not turned into a large one.  He did obtain it at the consignment shop, so that might be the problem.  Oh well, still looks nice, lol. :)

I have only ever gotten my tiberium from the Board Breaker (I am hopeless at finding it in Egypt) and it grows fine when I place it on the floor or on a big stand. But I have not had any since LN or bought any from the Consignment Store.

There are rare times when a Tiberium will not change/grow.  It doesn't happen very often, but I've seen it both with raw and cut Tiberium.  As for the Tiberium that never came back in the mail, that's probably a glitch in the game.

My newest sim is based in Bridgeport and all the tiberium he has found has grown with no problems. Two or three from Egypt that he didn't get cut and one from the board breaker that he did get cut.

Yeah also I herd that Tiberium duplicates after 10 weeks not sure if it's true. But back to the glitch, has it grown anywhere else besides Bridgeport?

I just recently had it grow in Riverview.  That happened 2 days ago.  It was my first time trying it out.  After it grew, it made my bill amount jump over $500.

That's the first time I've heard a specific timeframe for duplication.  I've never seen it duplicate.  It's always been just a rumor.

It grows everywhere.  There's not really a glitch.
