The Guitar Star challenge on Late Night

Is all of this pertaining to the Guitar Star challenge?  It looks like the thread has gone wildly off topic and nobody stopped it.  The Guitar Star challenge is the one in the skill journal in which your Sim has to play 10 venues, which are actually 10 opportunities.  The challenge was poorly written.  The discussion here seems to be about bands and their gigs.  It probably should have its own thread, unless I'm misunderstanding the situation.

OK, keeping on topic with regards to the guitar star challenge, I started a new game on Appaloosa Plains, but this time, I decided to use some cheats to get that guitar star challenge as doing it on 4 instruments at once is pretty time consuming!

So, I got my Sim employed in the culinary career, typed in "testingcheatsenabled true" and tried to click on my workplace to force the guitar opportunity. But instead, I can only see one option which says object, and an option to delete it! How come this cheat is not working?

Is this fixed in the patch? Can anyone try this?

If I've understood your text correctly than I can say that there is no cheat to force instrumental opportunities. The opportunities you can force are only those you get in a job. So if you are in the culiMary career you can force an opportunity of culinary once you've shift-clicked on the building you are working in.
As the instruments are skills and no direct careers you can not force an instrumental opportunity. They simply will arive every few days. And the more instruments you've completed, the harder the next one will get. While reIning Supersim, the first instrument, guitar, took me 7 weeks to complete. The next two took me 20, and than I still needed 2 more for Drums and 10 for Bass, which I still needed to start.
After that, I stopped counting the Weeks.

The key to completing the Guitar Star challenge is to have no other skills besides guitar.  That way, the only skill opportunities that fire will be for guitar.  No gardening, cooking, or any other skill opportunity will come up if your Sim doesn't have those skills.  And as I said earlier, the Guitar Star challenge is poorly written in the journal.  It's not bugged.  It just requires your Sim to complete 10 guitar opportunities.

I don't see a reason to continue the discussion because it's just going to go off topic again.  There's just nothing else to say about this topic, so I'm going to lock it.  If anyone disagrees, send me a private message and we'll talk about it.
