ADVENTURE: Stealing the Warlord's Gold
« on: December 06, 2009, 03:33:29 AM »
My Sim is in China and working on an adventure called Stealing the Warlord's Gold. She's in the tomb beneath the market and has been down there a couple of times already. She's supposed to be looking for Dong Huo's treasure trove to bring back a relic stolen from the merchant's ancestors. I've been all over the place, but I can't find the treasure trove. I've found plenty of other stuff, lots of coins and such. There's one dive well that doesn't go anywhere. She's been in it 4 times in a row and just comes back to the surface. All the doors have been opened that I can see.  Does anyone have any hints for me on this one?

Pam, there are 3 basement levels to that particular area.  Which level/s have you accessed?

The lone dive well opens a door on level 1 and then there is one stair case on level 2 and 2 more dive wells on level 3 plus a bunch of other things.

Level one has a total of 4 rooms and I just can't keep track of all that is on level 3.

I've gotten access to all three levels of the basement.  That third level has tons of stuff and I think I've opened everything.  Treasure chests, holes, and whatever else.  I don't see any of those shiny lights that shows where your final object is, either.  I would think that the third level would be the Treasure Trove, but I'm just stuck there with nothing else I can see to unlock or open.

Did you get the Dong Huo Keystone?  There is another basement area that you will have to access to get to the actual treasure trove.  You will know you are in the right place when you see basement level 2 and all the red carpets lining the hallways.  Do be aware there are a ton of traps on this basement.

So, the Treasure Trove is on the second level that looks like it only has the two stairways?  I'm pretty sure I have the keystone in my inventory.  I just haven't found the place to use it.

No Pam, it is in another place altogether.  Try the stairs out in front of the shop area to access the keystone panel.

Ohhh...  I've been using the stairs behind the general store.  That would explain it!  They had to come home already, but I'll look for the other stairs when she goes back to China.

Turns out I was going down the wrong initial set of stairs.  When I found the right ones, it worked out fine.  Thank you!

To get keystones to allow access to some tombs, you need to get started on the correct quest lines.  Every tomb can be accessed, some you need to start or finish a specific quest series to gain access.

So if you go explore a tomb and are stopped by an unknown keystone, complete your current quest line (to be thorough) and then get other quest adventures started.  Eventually given enough time, you will quest your way through them all.

By the way... I HIGHLY recommend hitting China and grabbing the Battle Dummy and Board Breakers before going too far as a tomb raider.  While mummies are slow, they can really throw a wrench into your gameplan if you get caught and killed or cursed.

Right. How can we not recommend getting the most basic level of martial arts. It's just too valuable to be able to zip around and be ready to tackle a mummy once in a while.

Can anyone tell me how to open this door?  ???

Now I realize playing the Sims 3 on Mac is playing the game of installation and uninstallation...

I can't really see everything from that angle and I don't remember specifically.  But I see a chest behind that red statue at the top.  You'll need to get through those steam traps and move the other statues out of the way.  There might be some holes in the floor up in those corners when you get to the chest.

Yeah, my sim has done that one, but I can't remember either how to open the door. I do think it had to do with moving that red statue though.

Yes, here is a mark on the floor behind the red statue. However, I got through those steam traps and can't pull the other statues due to the traps. No "disarm" option is available for these traps.
