Thank you Pally! It's great to know someone loves my patterns! (Also, I can see that you use a lot of Ausette's Fuzzy Flannel Pattern. I use it too!)
Welcome to Cranberry and Mulberry! Happy Birthday to most of the kids! Elaine really loves kids doesn't she! Strawberry is definitely the prettier sister!

Whoa! A whole fruit salad of berry children! I love the names you're using for this family. The girls are lucky to be sleeping out in the old barn, far away from the crying of nooboos, also makes it easier to sneak out should they be of mind to.
You've played too much TS3 when ... your 13 month old's babble sounds like Simlish!

One quick update while I wait for pets to install! Here's the windsoar family, but nothing much happened with them, so just a few pics...

(Adult) Nina Windsoar - mother/wife
(Young Adult) Theo Windsoar - father/husband
(Child) Rina Windsoar - twin sister/daughter (brown hair)
(Child) Mina Windsoar - twin sister/daughter (red hair)

Nina and Theo added a study to their house so they could have somewhere to research fashion and write on the laptop. The girls work hard at school, and play hard too. Theo celebrates his adult birthday with a big party!

Nina doesn't get any jobs anymore at work (a bug I suspect) but she can offer to makeover sims. She gives a makeover to a tattoo artist she works with, gives Oliver Greenwood a new hairstyle, gives Patricia Crumplebottom a new outfit, convinces Molly Darer-Coddle to stop wearing her wedding ring and wear a watch instead, and designs some new demure shoes for Scout Sargeant.

Nina and Theo take it in turns to read the girls to sleep at night. The girls enjoy their tree house most afternoons - no boys allowed. Nina works on her skills (she's at painting 7 and cooking 3), and is promoted to Trendsetter in Training (stylist level 5). Theo is promoted to Anonymous Source Handler (journalism level 5). He's at writing 6, and charisma 2. He's written a humour book (Pinky the Dragon), and reviewed the Deep Sea Diner. Both girls do ballet after school, and Rina has gone up to celebrity 3! All this new income lets Nina buy a new fridge, and a new car!

Now I'm going to play the greenwood family - with pets! Can't wait!

Finally after over a week of owning pets, I am ready to start telling the stories. I had a bit of a hiccup with the pets at first, but that seems to be ok now, but some things that happened in the game didn't go to plan, so I'm not including that in the story. Anyway, I don't think anyone will be able to spot the difference. :)

The Greenwood family:

(Elder) Oliver Greenwood - father/husband
(Elder) Holly Greenwood - mother/wife
(Child) Topaz Greenwood - son

Oliver and Holly have decided to finally begin their retirement. Holly retires to much applause and $130 per day, and they decide to bring home Topaz from boarding school - he learnt inventing, fishing, and cooking at the school of peace and love. The neighbourhood has recently had the additions of animals! Holly and Oliver want their home to be a refuge for animals who could use some love and attention. They quickly set up the appropriate gnomes to attract stray dogs/cats and wild horses.

Topaz loves playing with his friends at the local parks, and is pleasantly surprised by the appearance of an ice cream truck! What wonderful tasting goodness is this? Meanwhile, Oliver tracks down the Bay's two wild horses, and begins to watch them in the hope of befriending them.

Holly is disappointed by the lack of stray animals being attracted by the gnomes. However, one night she notices the wild horses congregating at a remote fishing spot, where they meet with a third white horse - with a horn! Even though it's late at night, Holly rides her bike out to the fishing spot and interacts with this strange creature. Holly has always been good at socialising, and this time is no different. Before the end of the night Holly is blessed by the unicorn, before the unicorn teleports away in the early morning.

Holly and Oliver decide they need a change of scenery. They swap their modern home for a quaint seaside abode that's just perfect for their family. And they celebrate their new home with the addition of some new animals - adopted from the pound. They decided to give homes to the elderly animals that really needed loving homes. Meet Susy the elderly whippet, and Emi the elderly egyptian mau. Both pets are playful and well-mannered and quickly settle into the household. Meanwhile Oliver has finally befriended a wild horse - but finds out that the Bay law only allows adoption of wild horses to skilled riders. Off he goes to the bookshop to buy riding skill books!

Susy and Emi quickly become good friends with Holly and they get along well with Topaz too. Holly takes Susy for walks, and the animals even get along well with each other.

Both animals enjoy sleeping with their sims, and playing with the everything in the house. Topaz found an ancient dragon lizard and is given a terrarium by his parents. The lizard - named Spike - is not always fun though - it bit Topaz the first time he played with it. Holly enjoys working in their new garden (she gets to gardening level 8 ) while Oliver studies his riding books.

Susy learns to sit, and improves her hunting skill - though so far she has only found a snakeskin and a chip bag. One time she comes back with fleas, so Holly gives her a relaxing bath. The pets bring fun and love to the whole family. And then it is time for Topaz's birthday. Holly throws an awesome party for close friends and family.

Topaz gains the animal lover trait, and chooses some casual clothes for himself.

Topaz wastes no time in getting acquainted with the local teenagers. One day at a local cafe, Topaz meets the girl of his dreams - Raspberry Bernard. He dazzles her with flowers and after a fun-filled date he gets his first kiss!

At home Susy learns some new tricks, while Holly and Oliver are out with the horses. Oliver has reached level 8 riding skill, and become good friends with a spotted wild horse, but at every turn the horse turns down the offer to join the household. Oliver is confused and disappointed. Should he give up his dream? Holly also invites her unicorn, Myra, to join the family, but is also denied. At least though, she has a reason - Myra wants to be sure Holly is friends to all creatures before she'll join the family.

And so we leave the Greenwoods for now - life is not always the way we wish it, but maybe next time will be better?

p.s. the Greenwood's new house is the 'Navy Nook' by Ausette - thank you ausette, it's really really lovely! You can find it at: http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=4918.0

I should have the next family (Caliente) up soon - with more pets! :D

This is my first dynasty I have read, And I have to say. It is amazing. I have, since then, have read several, but NEVER seen one like this. Your writing style is amazing, and it has inspired me to make my own. I would like some tips on getting good pictures and what you guys might be interested in.

Thank you for the compliment sims3zack :). This isn't technically a dynasty though - not sure what to call it, other than a miscelanious story. So glad you like my writing style - I have dreams of being an author one day, and to tell the truth I thought my writing in this was pretty ordinary. For tips - good pictures require a lot of pausing, and manuevering to get the right angle. Use the tab button if you want a good close up, and it looks better if you try not to let the plumb bob show, or bubble thoughts if you can help it. So if you have more than one sim/pet, and you're taking a photo of one, click on a sim not in the photo so the plumb bob of the sim in the photo doesn't show. And take lots of photos during events like birthdays so you can find the best shot. Other than that, I know of at least one thread that is entirely devoted to taking better screenshots - just search for that and you should find it easily. As for what people are interested in - just try something new, would be my advice. I had no idea if this idea of mine would be a hit, but I tried and people seem to like it, so just try something out, maybe something different from the other stories, something you enjoy, and see how you go :).

I will try to update tonight if I can - I have the photos all ready for the caliente family :)

Ok so the caliente family, finally :)

(Young Adult-vampire) Dina Caliente - mother
(Child) Edward Caliente - adopted son

Dina has finally given in to Edward's pleas to return home - and she even lets him choose a pet! He chooses a darling little dog called Momo (with traits playful, friendly and clueless). Dina decides she could use some security in the house when she's not around, so she gets the aggressive Doberman Pinscher she names Duke (with traits aggressive, genius and proud).

Both dogs quickly settle into life with the Caliente family. Edward bonds with Momo, though he is a bit afraid of Duke. Momo is a bit of a messy little dog, who takes out her destructive urges on the garden by digging holes. Fortunately for Momo, the maid always fills them up before Dina finds them. Dina actually makes an effort to bond with her dog Duke - she even stoops to giving him a bath in her private bathroom. Momo sleeps in Edward's room at night, while Duke has his own kennel in the garden.

Duke and Momo, surprisingly, get along swimmingly. In fact, they're quite close. They enjoy the pool when Dina isn't looking, and Momo is getting lots of love from Edward - she is now his BFF. Dina spends her free time relaxing in her hot tub. She's not the kind of mother who spends quality time with her son - her way of spoiling Edward is sending him to get a manicure/pedicure/soak at the local spa.
Dina is doing well at her job - she is promoted to personal assistant (director level 4), and then to Production Manager! Edward is good at his homework because of his training at his boarding school, and has risen to 3 celebrity stars!

Dina does have her good moments. In a moment that she later looks on as insanity (or too much nectar), she reads Edward to sleep. She's working hard on her job - she's chosen to take the director track, and is now a Storyboardist! She spends time improving her charisma skill. And at night she socialises with friends, with the intent of quenching her thirst. Meanwhile Duke is discovering his gentler side. Playing with Momo and his chew toy so much has earnt him the playful and non-destructive traits.

Duke's hard work guarding the house has gained him the loyal trait. Momo is winning over every member of the household - even the maid, who has to clean up after her. Edward is enjoying school - especially the field trips.

Dina catches herself watching tv... with the dogs? Little does she know that Momo and Duke have been making plans to add to the family... Edward is suffering the effects of a nasty rumour that he was arrested. He convinces his friend Mercury Steel that it's nothing more than a rumour. And Momo will always love him.

Dina, who likes walking around in her underwear (a trend that seems common in the Bay), starts teaching Duke some tricks - he's a quick learner. Edward prefers to play fetch with Momo, who is getting a little rounder in the belly. Dina continues her nighttime adventures, and treats herself with a fancy new hot tub.

It's time to meet the newest member of the family - Jojo! This adorable little puppy is stealing the hearts of his parents - he's just too cute! He even does miniature piddles!
Dina doesn't even notice the pup - a good thing in Edward's eyes. She's too caught up in her flashy new car, and the local bar scenes. She's earned her way into a job as a 2nd Unit Director (level 7). Her charisma is level 5 (vampires learn quickly!), and she's won a sims choice award!

Duke is becoming quite the loving family dog! Momo, meanwhile is feeling protective of her family, and bites Belladonna Fang when she tries to say hello. Momo now has the destructive trait, but no one minds, not even the maid. Duke has learnt to sit, and sit up. He showers love on his mate and son. Dina meanwhile is working on her fitness.

Finally, Edward grows up to a teenager. Dina throws a party, though it's mostly her own friends that come. Edward gains the Charismatic trait, and takes his mother's advice on an expensive wardrobe. At the party he even sets eyes on the girl of his dreams... (no I'm not going to tell you who she is just yet).

So, that was a long one, aye? Next will be the Malifa family - and there will finally be some horse action! :)

Hi again! I know it's been a while, but finally here is the Malifa family:

(Elder) Buzz Malifa - father/husband
(Elder) Lala Malifa - wife/stepmum
(Child) Catalina Malifa - daughter/stepdaughter

and introducing:

Jasmine Malifa (cat): neat, non-destructive, playful
Toby Malifa (dog): lazy, loyal, noisy

There were a few additions to the family furniture, so now the house looks like:

Catalina has been begging her dad for a cat for ages, and finally he gives in. He also gets himself a pet - a bulldog. Jasmine sleeps in Catalina's room, while Toby has a dog house outside. Jasmine quickly finds the toy mouse in the toy crate and begins her hunting skills. Her first prize is a cute little rat, that she proudly presents to Catalina, who puts him in a cage and names him Gordon. Catalina dreams of having lots and lots of pets one day! Meanwhile Toby has met Momo from next door, and quickly makes friends.

Lala makes friends with Jasmine, and just in time to give her a flea bath. Toby meets the neighbourhood raccoon - must he be friendly with everyone?

Toby is so endearing to everyone - even Buzz finds time for him.

Jasmine adds a turtle (Gerald) to Catalina's collection. She's really enjoying her hunting adventures, though half the time all she finds is rubbish. Jasmine lovingly places these in Catalina's room, but they soon disappear - she blames the maid. Catalina shows off her skills at her dance recital, and shows off the trophy in her room. Then she throws a slumber party for all her friends (actually, there were too many to invite them all). She tells a riveting ghost story about the phantom white deer, before everyone crashes into their sleeping bags, pretty much anywhere! Her party is a modest success.
Buzz wins laser tag at work (he's an airforce pilot) and is promoted to 'Top Gun' (level 9). Then he decides to finally give it all a rest, and retires to $290 a day. He soon takes to upgrading the house in all his free time, and reaches handiness level 10. He also works out at the gym and completes the Marathon Runner Skill Challenge (which will supposedly give him a longer life, hopefully).
Lala is chowing through the drama novels. Her latest works include: 'Pirouette', 'Cat and Dog' (a hit), and 'Slumber Party' (a bestseller). She gets to level 10 writing skill, and level 5 (Work-for-Hire Wordsmith) in the writing career.

The next day is Catalina's birthday (and Lala and Buzz's evening in the hot tub)! She gains the trait 'Animal Lover' and joins the drama club.

Catalina spends a long time choosing her new outfits - she has to be the coolest teen in town.

Buzz cannot resist his daughter's pleas, and goes all out for her birthday. They add a new room and ensuite upstairs just for Catalina, plus a new carport, and... a horse stall! (with added plant shadow cover)

Meet Wisp the horse: genius, quiet, neat. She's Catalina's wish come true, and Catalina wastes no time before making her new best friend feel at home. Riding is a little difficult at first, but practice makes perfect.

Meanwhile it's Toby's turn for a bath, and Buzz's turn to give it to him. Toby loves Catalina's new big bed - there's room for him too! Jasmine has been catching insects to add to Catalina's collection - including a spider! Jasmine is at hunting level 5, and has gained the Hunter trait. Toby and Jasmine get along just as well as Catalina and Wisp. Toby now has the playful, non-destructive and adventurous traits. Wisp has gained the fast trait, and is at level 2 in racing.

That's it for that family in this round. Next will be the Crumplebottoms - expect a big change of scenery for them! :)
