Erik Darling Disappeared!

After reading all sorts of lovely things about Agnes Crumplebottom, I decided to play her for the first time ever. Well, I really wanted to resurrect Erik (her dead husband) for her, so I made ambrosia for him. Before he ate it, he and Agnes were boyfriend and girlfriend, and that relationship stayed once he became human again. He wasn't a part of the family, but I wanted Agnes to propose to him so I could have a private wedding and he could be playable ASAP. But the option to propose never showed up, even their relationship bar was completely full. So in a desperate attempt, I sent them to woohoo and while walking to the bed, Erik vanished into thin air. He's not listed in Agnes' friends, and his tombstone has disappeared. I even tried using resetsim to see if he would reappear somewhere around town, but no luck.

Does anyone have any other ideas on how to track him down? Has this happened to anyone else?

Oh, and the worst part is that right after he disappeared, Agnes had a wish to get married. Breaks my heart.

I don't know this for sure, but resurrected ghosts that start the game as ghosts seem to just disappear after eating Ambrosia.  Because Erik was a ghost when the game started, he never had a home in Sunset Valley, so he just went *poof* after a bit.

I think you needed to resurrect him through Oh My Ghost! opportunity (which Agnes would get in time), and only then feed the playable ghost Ambrosia. Thus he will already be a part of the household.

Bummer. I thought the Oh My Ghost opportunity just made him into a playable ghost, and I didn't want the chance of ghost babies. Oh well, guess I'll have to start with another Agnes! Thanks for your help!

I know when I played a game to bring Eric back, before I fed him ambrosia, I made sure their friend level was all of the way up.  After I fed him ambrosia and turned into a sim, he ran off.  Like Pam said, since he actually didn't live in the house when he died, they will run off.  He ran down the street and vanished.  He was not in Agne's friend list,  but I kept on playing and she got a job at the diner.  Pretty soon, Eric showed back up around town and Agnes hunted him down and they finally got together.  It took alot of time, but they made it.  My sister did the same thing and he ended working at the same diner as her.  He was in need of a makeover and trait change, but at least Agnes had her man back again, lol.

I didn't have a problem with mine.. When the oh my ghost came up, off to the lab, then home, ate the good stuff, they made out (lol) became br/gf, went to bed, next day, got job, makeover, engaged. then a week later married.

No, it is not a problem if you get the Oh my ghost opportunity, but if someone doesn't get that opportunity then the only other way would be just to keep putting ambrosia down for the ghost.  My sister nor myself, have gotten that silly opportunity for ages.  I guess we just have to do the next best thing.

Resurrected ghosts can't propose, I don't think, if they just had Ambrosia put down for them. I have some pairs that want to marry, but the option just never appears.

When Agnes ate the Ambrosia in my Redhouse Saga, they couldn't get married either.  So I thought, oh well, no big deal.  A few sim days later, I was in the friends list and saw that Agnes and Nathan had the rings in the their picture.  I hovered over it and it said "wife" and "husband".  I thought that was rather strange, since I had not had them get married nor had the "have marriage" interaction had never showed up.  So I assumed, once the sim had been back for a certain amount of time, they just automatically showed married again, since they had been married before the sim had died.  It was just strange, but this game has a mind of its own anyway, lol.

That's very weird. I've never heard of that happening before!

I tried searching around town for Nathan, but I gave up after a few sim days. Agnes wound up marrying Jean Luc Beaumont from Champs Les Sims. They're expecting their second child now.
