I thought it would be nice to know more about this item. What is your experience with the Set, guys? Found out something new - share please! :) Thanks.

I went to a family of vampires and had the teen that had her logic maxed work on the chemistry set.  In no time, she had all of the potions in her inventory.  I haven't tried any of them yet, but you can put them on the counter and have another sim drink them.  I am getting ready to play, I want to see what the effects are of each one.  Sounds pretty interesting so far. :)
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

Salty, I take it like it resembles the Inventing Table?

I've only tried two of these so far.  There's one that makes your sim look and act like a ghost, drifting around.  It seems to last about 3 hours.  There's another one that makes your sim's hygiene plummet - not sure I see the point of that one unless you wanted to give it to someone else as a prank.

Chronic, Penny was using it in the last update. Of course it was recolored, but that's it. On the other family I created to test it, they learned all the potions in less than 2 weeks. Of course needs were static. It's cool in my opinion. I didn't use any of the potions in that game, but you can make the youth potion with it, but Penny bought hers with her LTHP's.

So you can buy that potion as a LTR too? Wow, didn't know that. Thanks. :)

Yes it costs 70,000 points if my memory is right. Of course, with Penny that wasn't a problem lol. You're welcome!

Wow, that's a lot. Especially if we count that I always forget to enable testing cheats in the main menu. I mean, when I am not playing Palms, Tysons and Crumplebottoms, of course! ;D

I absolutely love the chemistry set! It can be both practical and at other times hilarious.

On an ironic note, with the youth potion now being the quickest, easiest way to immortality... Sims can now literally be 'too dumb to live'.  ;)

I've tried them all with my gebius maxed out in logic.

Stink- decreases hygeine
Horror- makes you terrified
Ninja- you throw it and return home like teleporting
Bladder-you wets your pants
Ghost- your a phantom for 3 hours; but no one was afraid of my sim at the party, so I had her tell a ghost story as a ghost
Youth-back to day 1 of young adult
The one for the imaginary friend

I'm currently waiting while I install my new Sims Generations, so enjoying reading about the new features :D I was wondering, does anyone know if the color of the potions is the same, or some the same as Sims 1?

Sims 1 potions:
Red = love potions
Green = 3 needs bottom out (or maybe it was all)
blue = 3 needs maxed
yellow = reversed personality (great way to max all personality points if you build a sim with no personality!)
pink/purple = turns you into a monster
orange = invisible
I think there was also another green one, but I can't remember what it did. I never drank a potion I didn't want. I always sold my chem set at the end of every day (to avoid depreciation) and if I got a potion I didn't like, I sold it and bought another.

Did they keep any of these?

Radical Reparum is blue, Mood Enhancer is pink, Liquid Horror is red, Bladder Flow is yellow, Stink Juice is green, Ninja is blackish/gray, Ghost is white, Sleep Elixir is grayish, Imaginary friend is brownish and the Youth potion is light pink. Here is the article that shows the color and price.

I have just started playing with the chemistry set. I am wondering if there is a way to make my sim get another sim to drink the stink potion? Because otherwise I don't really see the point of that potion, or the low bladder potion. If you give it as a gift, will the sim automatically drink it? Maybe the problem is that I'm playing with a child - can only teenagers use them as pranks?

I believe I saw a discussion of this problem somewhere else. No, apparently when you give it as a gift to an NPC, they say thanks and that's all. It forever stays in their inventory unless you take control of them. ???

My Sim has found all the potions. When a click on a potion in his inventory, there are 3 options:

Gift
Drink
Mix into a drink

I think that when you use the 3rd one, you're able to give it to some other Sim as a glass they will drink. I will test later today.

So far, the one I like the best is the Sleeping Elixir (greyish color). It really makes the night very short, especially combined with a top bed and the Meditative Trance Sleep reward.

I still have to try the Ninja Vanish. It might be a good replacement to the "expensive" teleportation pad, at least to come back home asap.
