Placing Waylon's Haunt in Barnacle Bay
« on: June 13, 2011, 03:33:01 PM »
I'm not sure if some bug was caused by the last patch, but I'm having trouble placing Waylon's Haunt in Barnacle Bay.  I changed a residential lot of size 64X64 into a community lot of type dive bar.  This should be more than big enough for Waylon's Haunt.  However, when I go build/buy in edit town and select Waylon's Haunt, no lots show up as available for placement.  Does anyone know what the problem here might be?

You're right, even a 50x50 is big enough. I don't know if this will solve your problem but sometimes I have to re-bulldoze a lot and set it again. I've always had this problem in my game. Sometimes my residential lots show up with a vacant house icon instead of the vacant lot icon, even if they are empty. I've found I've had to do this with commercial lots also.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I just tried bulldozing and looks like it didn't fix the problem.

Edit:  When I bulldozed, I switched the lot type immediately back to dive bar.  I tried switching it back to no visitors allowed, which is the default after bulldozing, and I was able to place the bar :)  I think it automatically switched back to dive bar after I placed it.

I saw this thread and was going to suggest just this, however you figured it out first.  :P  For some reason, the game sometimes doesn't recognize the lot types properly.  I don't know why, but making it a generic community lot will usually fix it.

And yes, it was likely automatically switched to the appropriate lot type.
