Removing Memories wipes Prom Pictures?

Okay so in my Legacy and Dynasty I have wiped about all of the Memories lately. In my Dynasty I had about 300 - 400 and in my Legacy over 1000. However I had a two prom pictures in each game. After deleting these memories I found that the pictures from the Prom had just vanished and only the frame remained, could removing a memory of Prom wipe the Pictures? It's the only thing I can think of that caused the images to be wiped.

Interesting thought. I routinely wipe my memories (in game, not in RL), and my prom pictures are always blank, too. I wonder if keeping the memory that shows the picture would solve the problem.

I recently noticed this with the Grims, too.  Unfortunately, I'm sure I did it for the Steels.  I was thinking that maybe keeping the memory would help.  Of course, I thought the culprit was the fact that I had wiped the memory then had to reinstall instead of just wiping the memory.

I have Tris Jades Prom pictures and I wil sacrafice that, since at the moment I'm either failed or maybe allowed to continue if I go back a save. I'll let you know what happens.

I've tested this out. The first memory that shows up, the one of going to the prom, is the one that is connected to the picture. As long as you don't erase that, the picture should stay.

Thanks for testing it Marian!  I'll make sure not to delete that memory in the future!

Interesting that the three of you had your prom picture removed when you deleted the memory.
I've deleted the memory of generations six' prom and the picture is still there in her museum, perhaps it is random if the picture gets removed or not...

Do you regularly delete all your cache files and dcbackup?  That could be the other answer.

I do, although it could make sense because that is also a step I would have taken to speed up my game with my Dynasty file running slowly, since I deleted memories to try and speed that up as well? (Thanks for reminding me about these - 436 Items!!!)

Yes, it must be to do with the deleting of cache and dcbackup files, as well as the memories, because I do this as well after every single time I've played and the pictures do disappear instantly, following it. I'd rather having missing prom pictures than a slow game, though.

I'm pretty sure you can delete the cache files and dcbackup and still have your prom pictures as long as you keep that one memory. I clear my caches on a regular basis and still have the pictures.

Whoops I'm sorry my post caused so much confusion.  I was supposed to quote Margerita who said deleting her prom picture didn't get rid of it.  I wondered if the difference between the one I was missing and the one she's not missing has to do with the fact I regularly clean out my folder.

The missing prom picture is definitely linked to the memory being taken away though.  Tried and true by many of us so far.

I also fairly regularly clean out my folders but I haven't done so since I removed the memory though. Perhaps I shall do it now just to see what it does.

Edit: I cleaned it out and the picture is still there so unless I clean differently than you Ricalynn I don't think that is quite it.

I think I have figured out why some are getting their prom pictures removed when they remove the prom memory.
The picture stays if your sim went solo and goes away if your sim went with a date.
