I chose Dreamweaver for my Legacy family name.  It has a whimsical sound to it that I love.  Then with each generation, I had a theme for the first names.  First were the planets:  Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Neptune, Mercury, and Pluto.  Another generation was the Zodiac:  Aquarius, Capricorn, Gemini, and Libra.  There was the gemstone generation:  Diamond, Sapphire, Emerald, Garnet, and Amethyst.  Let's see...  I had one of earthly elements:  Fire, River, Ocean, Skye, and Terra.  The seasons generation:  Winter, Summer, and Spring.  And so on.

The family in the Surrounded by Family walkthrough had names taken from my favorite series of books, The Dragonriders of Pern.  Lessa, F'lar, F'nor, Robinton, Brekke, Menolly, and Sharra.

I'm going to run out of themed names soon!

Tom, this weekend I will ensure that all skill guides on the site have a best traits page. Sorry for the lack of one on gardening. One of those to-dos... sometimes you guys make requests and get them bumped up to the top :)

The traits I chose for my "perfect garden" gardener: http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/lifetimewishes/perfectgarden.php

Thanks Carl :) but am looking for the one where it says something like that:

Writer (Professional Author)

And there's lots of them and you can see what skills you need.

Pam, ever thought about naming one of your legacy sims Sigourney?

Would be funny, Sigourney Dreamweaver

I really liked your Legacy last name Pam. And I did notice the naming themes as I read your blog. Really neat idea.  :) And it resulted in some pretty names!

 ::) :D

My current sim is called Max Schreck after the German actor who played Count Orlok in Nosferatu. According to legend the reason Schreck's performance was so convincing was because he was in fact a real vampire.

The name occurred to me when I decided to make my sim a kleptomaniac. See a klepto can only be a klepto after dark and he can't just enter any house he wants, he has to be invited in.
Get it? Get it?

Meh :P

I'm always stumped for names too.  :(  Sometimes I use the phone book, but I also like to know the meaning behind the name so I use this website:  http://www.behindthename.com/   :D

Cool site Igzig. Actually sort of fun outside the game too. People should use that kind of thing for baby names... it even shows a few famous people with that name.

If I am doing a challenge their names are based on the challenge theme.

Otherwise I use pop culture names or something that I like.  I use baby naming websites.  I've also dragged out the phone book.

I just started a Legacy and they all have Italian names.

Kreathyr, yea the phone book is pretty funny...but I mainly use it for surnames.   I still get a phone book because I have worked in telecommunications for over 20+ years and I'm sure I'm one of the few left who still have a "land line" (if you don't know what that is, don't worry about it you don't need it, snicker).  8)

Happy Simming!  :D
