Almost invisible pool water
« on: November 04, 2011, 05:08:58 PM »
The water in the pools is almost..not there!
I see beautiful water in so many pictures other simmers upload and I wonder what is the problem with my computer?
I know my graphics card is not good at all (ATI X1300/1550), but I remember  not having this problem when I first started playing..(I think)
I tried the reflection and visual effects options but nothing changed.
This is the water:

It look like advanced rendering is turned off. It is a option under graphic settings.

You're right! I noticed it.
I also enabled the reflections so the water now (with the rendering on) reflects buildings and trees so it looks even more great than the pic above.. :D
But the problem is my game crashes to black screen after a while..  :( bad computer.

All other settings are on low or off.
Only sim detail and texture are on high settings. (now the advanced rendering is also on)

The advanced renedering take a lot from you graphic card. I'm not good at technical stuff but perhaps your card overheat. But it make everyting look pretty. I play always on the default graphic settings.

I think the reflections are more harsh for my graphics card. So I turned it off and now I'm playing ok with just the advanced rendering on.
I just need to save very often just in case.
I wish I could play smoothly with all the settings set on high :D

Just as long as you can play. I also save often. If my game crash I get paranoid and save every 30 minutes lol!

I don't save only to prevent losing the played time,
but also because I find the "not saving" being the reason why my game crashes in the first place. I don't know why..
