Sims 3 freeze for 10-15s at random moments

With the installation of Generations for Sims 3 my game has started to act weird: it freezes for 10-15s at random moments and after that it goes back to normal. I play for a few minutes, freeze, back to normal and then freeze again. And so on. I've read somewhere a while ago it's probably a glitch introduced by Generations. I couldn't google any answer so far and I've had a long break in playing Generations so I still don't know if the glitch got fixed. Anybody got any suggestions to help me fix it?

Did it ages ago and it's not related to game slowing down. My problem is the game FREEZES for 10s and then go back to normal.

Some laptops/computers that run the game just can't handle a certain number of EPs/SPs but I know a lot of people's games freeze a lot when their system requirements are just fine.. What town is the save file that this occurs in? Also, I know it's a technical problem and probably occurs in the game in general but have you tried starting a new save file and seeing if the same happens there? It could be the town. I hear Bridgeport in particular is very freezy and laggy and I think Riverview and Barnacle Bay are like that, too.

I've had this in mine. Most of the time its when I'm in a tomb on speed 4.

I have this problem on occasion. It's usually when I've been playing for too long, and my laptop overheats. If I let it cool down, it stops. I've noticed it happens in large files more often than it does in small ones, so maybe that's a factor?

I used to play in Sunset. All was fine except the Consignment Store - it just didn't work at all. I started a completely new game in Hidden Springs. The bug started occuring after the installation of Generations.
It's not a problem with overheating laptop - it looks different in my case. I think I have to update my game to the version required by Pets add on (I don't plan on getting Pets anyway).

I'm in Hidden Springs with Pets and I'm getting slight freezes as well.  It makes me think that it's the problem from China where there is a pathing issue and of course, Sims or animals are getting stuck.  I just can't seem to find them.  Every now and then I do a blanket resetSim but I haven't noticed if it goes completely away because in my current game there is a lot going on.

I did have the same poroblem after genarations. Nothing helped I even copied the town and the same thing happened. I delete the game, it didn't happen in my other games. It is best to update your game to the latest update.

It happens to me too, depending on what town or what household I am playing.  Usually, if it starts, I will restart the game and that usually clears it up.  When I shut down for the night and start up the next time, it has corrected itself too.  Just try to keep your computer as clean as possible,  it happens to the best of us and right now, there is no actual "fix" for it.

Since I don't have Pets and haven't played for like 2 months can you guys tell me what's the current version of the game? 0_0 I didn't install EA Downloader because I simply think it's spyware :/

Last patch brings your base game to 1.26.89 for Pc and 1.27.5 for Mac. This is the release of October (Pets). Good luck with your freezing problem. A good complete reinstall can help for this too.

To be clear: my game doesn't freeze for good and I have to restart. It freezes for 10-15s and then unfreezes and runs normal. I don't think a full reinstall will help thou (because I don't wanna reinstall it all over again QQ). I'll try the patch now. Is there a way to revert the patch in case something goes wrong?

Maybe a restore point in Windows? But otherwise, no, there is nothing on EA side that lets you go back to the previous patch. Only reinstalling

I've tried applying the newest patch to my S3 Generations. It turned out to be the wrong language and now I can't start Generations 0_0 This game is stupid :/
