"Aww, nobody showed up"

More and more I'm getting this sign popping up whenever I throw a party.  There's not one sim who shows up, and I have food, music and at least a hot tub, dart board or foosball table or something to do at the party...nobody shows up.  It's happened probably 4 or 5 times in as many saved games.  Has something changed?  Is anyone else having probles with parties?

If you have the LTHP's to spare you can always get the Legendary Host LTR. If you don't want that I would suggest being very good friends. The food and drinks only works if they go lol. I used to have that problem to that's why I got the reward.

I always purchase the "Legendary Host" and have the opposite problem of "uninvited" guests! These "uninvited" guests are also the last to leave!

Thanks for the responses!  All the sims in this household already have the Legendary Host LTR so I don't know what else to do.

I'm not sure, but isn't the party animal trait is supposed to include that every sim you invite will show up?

Double check this, bshag.  The Legendary Host LTR is supposed to guarantee that everyone invited shows up.  The person throwing the party has to have the LTR for it to work.

I don't think I've seen this anywhere.  They get lots of wishes for parties, but I'm not sure about attendance.

Description for Party Animal trat in game is:"Party Animals love to party, and others love to party with them. When a Party Animal hosts a party, everybody comes and has a greattime. Woo!" - Just checked in game. I'm not shore if it works since I rarely play with Party Animals.

When I play with a party animal, I don't buy "legendary host". Both guarantee invitees will come.

Good thing with the party animal trait is your more likely to be invited to another's party since they want to make their party a success.

I had this happen to me in Bridgeport once.  It turned out that the whole town was stuck in elevators or something.  A couple of "ResetSim *" seemed to fix things but it was still  a problem I had to go to a new file.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, and Pam, I will check those sims.  Should be a reason nobody is coming to my parties.

I just checked and it's what I was afraid of, the saved game is glitched.  This is one of my oldest games running, a Bridgeport game that I started when LN was first released.  Dylan Michaels is my CAS sim who is married to Alexy Fresco, a townie, and they are both elder.  He had a clone, Connor who is now a YA and married to Rafael Striker.  All of them have the legendary host LTR and Rafael is a party animal.  I just tried to have another party and no one showed up...Rafael had it.  I usually play with the age sliders between long and epic...I like my simmies.  Oh well, I guess no more parties for them.

Try having the party at one of the bars. Don't make the party "exclusive" and you'll have even non-invited people show up. Tick on the bar for "open bar" so you don't have people starving.

Thanks MoMoll, I'll give that a shot.  I think I've only had one party at an outside venue, a bachelor party in Hidden Springs.  I'll try it.
Their apartment is huge with a bar, hot tub and game room so I never felt the need to have parties anywhere else.
