Can someone give me ideas for undocumented play?

I am so bored right now. I really want to go on TS3 but I don't have any good ideas on what to do with my sims. I just gave up on a surrounded by family one since I was getting annoyed with my sim constantly being pregnant. I also have another one where I'm testing out Pets but that has gotten old too. Does anyone have any good ideas on what I should do with my sims?

Just so you know, Surrounded by family seems to be glitched for me. I can adopt children (at the child life stage), and age them up to complete the wish.


You could try to get to the top of every career, or just set yourself a goal and achieve it. Or you could play aimlessly, or try one of the many challenges out there.

You can create two young adults and let go off the mouse and let them do everything on their own. Could be interesting to sit back and watch them lol!

If you have WA, I would suggest making a single sim and travelling as often as possible and exploring all the tombs. I did this just a little while ago and I had so much fun that it reignited my love for those little people lol.

The other thing I like to do is make a single sim and then set my own goals for them, for example I won't allow my sim fall in love until they have a certain amount of money or career level. My last solo challenge my sim had to have an excellent bed, a good stove and refrigerator before he could buy any decor items. Then he had to reach level 8 of his chosen career before he could find a wife, then wife had to reach level three of her career before they could have a baby. Then to make matters a little harder, they could not have a second child until the Wife was level 5 in cooking.

I set myself mini challenges to stop the game getting old. I always attempt (and usually fail) to get someone in the family level 10 cooking and level 10 handiness.

One game I would only allow my family to have a child one the previous child was a teen. This means the teen can help with the baby, leaving my parents to concentrate on their career.

You could try doing one of the Dynasty Challenges or you can ask Metro to join one of the current competitions he hosts on here.. I definitely know how it feels to find TS3 boring after awhile. I usually get a new EP to rekindle my love. Haha  And for the dynasty and competitions you don't have to document anything or report your score unless you want too.

Have you tried playing with aging off? I like to focus on getting one Sim to the top of their career/skill, and turning off aging lets me go at my own pace without worrying about getting them a spouse or children.

I recommend the challenges, too.  The official tournament for 2011 is over, but you can still play the challenges unofficially.  The two Dynasty challenges are also great fun.  Other than that, I suggest just working through the various Lifetime Wishes.

If you want a more hands off approach, then why not try playing around with uncontrollable sims?

I expect that you've heard of them: 

There's the Asylum Challenge, where you have one controllable sim (who has an outside job), seven uncontrollable sims, one bathroom, seven places to sleep and no fire alarms.  Using only your controllable sim, your aim is to keep the uncontrollable ones alive.

Or there's the I'm Surrounded by Idiots Challenge, a kind of legacy challenge, where you control one sim per generation (subject to a few 'free' controls).

The gameplay can be both amusing and incredibly frustrating, lol.

There are some Projects/Challenges on the Stories Board you could try. Also I like Multi-Generational Challenges and I make every single Generation different if I can.

Socialize, I have downloaded a few sims from the swapshop, added them to the game, and now with my household of 3 YA males I'm  trying to find them spouses, and this is not easy
