My car keeps dissapearing!

I have had two different sims ( in different households) become architectural designers in Sims 3 both times; they will drive to their first job just fine. When they leave to go to the next one, they are all of sudden riding in a taxi. The funny thing is is the car will show up in the household inventory but I can't click on it or do anything with it.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything I can do?

Is the car official Sims 3 content from Electronic Arts?  If it's a third party custom content car, it could be causing problems.  Also, have you designated the car specifically to the Sim driving it?

The car is officials Sims 3 content. I tried designating the car to the sim driving it but because I have her living alone, I didn't see that option.

I've had this too Pam and that was when I first got the game. Nothin you can do about it I don't think.

Oh no...

The weird thing too I should mention is that this is only Sims3 career path that this happens in. I have tried my sims using a bike and this doesn't seem to be  a problem.

I just recently had this happen (never before). I was wondering where the sim was and he had the car in his personal inventory, but, he was walking home with a bladder and hunger at almost zero. I teleported him home and will see tomorrow if he survived.
