My Sunset Valley is turning into a trash dump

This is my problem...



It's that stupid neighborhood grillathon thingy...I never have sims go but everyone else is trashing the town.  Nothing ever gets cleaned up...no maids, nothing.  The next week it just gets worse.  This is the only town I'm having a problem in.  The first time it happened, my little elder couple cleaned it up...it took both 3 full sim days to pick up rotting food.   Now it's happening again in 2 locations...central park and the blue cerulean pool.  If there was just a way of turning off the grillathon...

I have never seen that. I don't think there is a way to turn it off. You could go to edit town and delete the plates though.

I've done the grillathons and the next day all the stuff is gone.  Weird!

I don't know specifically about Edit Town, but in the normal buy mode you need to have the cheat "moveObjects on" activated to sell plates, so I would try that.

That is so odd.  I think each location is supposed to reset and clean itself every day.

If you are fed up with it try saving the family to the sim bin, then putting them in a new game...

This has the same principles but don't start a new game with Riverview and you use Sunset Valley instead.

Oh, I don't know exactly because that has never happened to me but I am relatively sure you can just go to edit town, click on the mess and delete it.

There's no way in my game to use the Buy mode on a lot other than the sims' home lot.  Camera just keeps going back to the home lot when put in Buy mode.

Thanks for the advice anyway.  I guess I'll take turns having the townies clean up their own messes.

Bshag, do you know what you could try instead of going through edit town?
Use the cheat 'testingcheatsenabled true' and then shift-click on the lot and choose 'buy on this lot'. This will bring you to the buy menu for that lot!
