Making Home Videos Help
« on: January 30, 2012, 06:56:35 AM »
With my last family I bought them a video camera so they could record home videos of their childrens first steps and things like that. The stupid thing drove me nuts.  >:( First the Sim holding it always goes and stands somewhere else often resulting in a nice shot of the wall. -_- The controls are a pain in the rear end, you seem to be limited to how much you can zoom in or out too.

When I do finally manage to get it right, the battery is flashing but never seems to run out, it always says 60:00 on it so I never know how much life is still left in it's battery. I'm guessing that you have to use up the whole battery to get a disk because I have always stoped beforehand and have never gotten one. This is annoying as it takes forever for the stupid battery to run out and I'd rather not have my Sim stand there recording for hours.

Does anyone have any tips for better managing of the controls? Is there a way to get the video data on a chip without having to use up all the battery on the recorder? Just how long does it take for the battery to run out anyway?

I'd like to try using a video recorder again but find it so confusing so any light shed on this would be great.  :)

Rainbow Dash, from what you're describing... when you start using the camera, did you press C to record?

No I didn't but I tried it and I get the video on a chip so thanks for that.  :) The controls are still a pain but I've gotten a little better at it, I think it's one of those things that take practice. My Sims still like to walk to a random place to record though, grrr. -_-; Thanks for the help, sorry for the late reply.  :)
