What happens to memories after a sim dies?
« on: March 07, 2012, 03:10:44 PM »
For the sake of my legacy, I'm wondering if I lose all the scrapbooks as each sim dies. Does anyone know? Or do they get compiled somewhere?

I'm pretty certain the memories vanish, the only things that remain (Apart from the Sim's remains) are the stuff they had in their inventory which shows up in the inventory of the (Living) Sim closest to them I believe. If you want to keep their memories alive, you can always upload them to The Sims 3 site.  :)

Thank you for answering! I've been uploading them religiously, so I can earn the rewards—thank goodness!! I hadn't even thought of the fact that I'd be able to look back at them online. :) I also take screenshots of big moments, so I'll have those to look through too.

I miss the photo albums we could tote from sim to sim in Sims 2 Bon Voyage, though.

I forgot about screenshots, lol. If you have Generations installed you can record a home movie of your Sim and play it back later. (There's a thing you can buy under electronics/general that you can store the videos on, I forget what it's called. The video camera is found there too).  I've never actually played a home video back so I have no idea what it looks like, lol.  :)

I resurrected a sim with opportunity "Oh My Ghost" and all his memories were still in his scrapbook!

I wish there was a way to order a hard copy of the scrapbook like there was in Bon Voyage for ordering photos. Le sigh.
