Genie bugged

My sim had a Genie, but couldn't set it free as that option vanished before the genie could made it come true. After that no sim in my game seems to be able to get another genie via the Lifetime Reward panel. Is this a bug, and can I fix it? And is there another way to get a genie?

I haven't tested this out, myself, but I read somewhere that sometimes sims come back from exploring the Mausoleum with a genie lamp ... but only sometimes, so it's not guaranteed that you'll get one on the first or second try.

Haha, that's okey. I was looking in that section also. But I'm 100% sure about it, as we now have filters in both buy and build mode which can filters out everything not Showtime related.

I read somewhere that you can get one in a magic trick, and sometimes a fan sends you one in the mail. I think.

Yes, with magic tricks your Sim can summon a lot of items. But they will,let them vanish when they're done with the trick. So, too bad you can't use them afterwards.

My Genie wouldn't grant a wish with one Sim, but he granted it with other Sim. I guess the Lamps are not bound to the Sim who bought it.

Oh that could be. I've never experienced that. But I assume the genie always grands wishes for the Sim who had wishes it, not branding it for another one in your household, am I right?

I finally got the genie and wanted to set it free.  I used the wish and the pop up said, first you had to freeze the lamp.  Unfortunately, it won't let me put it in the fridge.  Not sure if all of the wishes have to be used up first or that this option is bugged.  I know others have done this, so let me know if I am missing a step or something.

When you click on the fridge there must be a option, freeze the lamp.

Nope, that option is not there, shucks.  I finally had to give up playing yesterday, as we were having a sand storm here and kept knocking out my internet, so, hopefully, I can play today.  I will look again when I play my game, maybe I somehow missed it.
