Kleptomanic maid

I am assuming that since a kleptomanic can't still until after dark the "stuff" in my home is safe; as I have a maid who is one. 

I just wanted to make sure.  I guess it wouldn't be a good idea to make friends with her and invite her over for tea at night   

I have several paintings worth some pretty good money  (at least for a starving artist) hanging on the walls.  I'd hate to have them stolen.

I think every maid I have hired has had the Klepomanic trait. I think it's just part of the character.
But I've never had any of them steal anything.

Really, they all have that traits? And I was thinking I was just unlucky with my staff.
I personally would fire them. Just to make sure.
But if they all have that traits you may also considering inviting them over to CAS to change their traits into something more practical. Great Kisser or something.

Most maids but not all have the klepto trait.  It's so that if you don't have money to pay them, it's in their personality to steal something to pay for their wages with an item instead of with your checking account.

Uhm, because there is no Suck up to Boss option for them?

It's easy for befriending and marrying them, because children of maids will have the hidden trait that they never will make anything dirty. Don't confuse this with the Neat trait however.

Unless your sim is a female and the maid is flirting with the hubby     .  Wonder if they have ever broken up a marriage, just curious. 
I know that one of my sims, the author one, is married to a sim who has the charisma and friendly trait.  She had been flirting with him every day, and he has started a couple of fights.  I think I let my sim marry him too soon. 

I think I will be mean and get a kid to start a dynasty; not like the ones here, but a trial one for me.  So, maybe I will see if I can start one and then toss him out.

No don't take it seriously. The maid never flirt while she is at work. You don't have to worry about it.

I thought I'd heard that maids do sometimes steal from your Sims.  Also, does it have to be after dark for a klepto to steal inside someone's house?  I think maybe that's only for stealing in public, but I'm not certain.  They can steal in a house if nobody else is around.

If it's only after dark than a maid doesn't need that trait really much, unless you invite her to stay over.
