How do I get Custom Music onto my game? Is there a way to get Music from iTunes? I want my simmies to rock out to my favourite Tunes  ;D

I believe Sims 3 takes only .mp3 files.  You can find the Custom Music folder in the same place you find screenshots and recorded videos.  For Windows, the path is: Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Custom Music.

From what I understand, they also have to be a specific bit rate as well.  I'm not sure what bit rate that is, though.

From looking at the default custom music that came with my game, the bit rate is 128kbps.

I'm not sure what determines if a song will play or not.
I have some that are 128kbps that don't play but also have some that's as low as 32kbps that will play and as high as 320kbps that will play.
So there's something besides the kbps that determines if a song will play or not but I haven't figured out what.

There are file converters that will change the song from whatever it begins with to .mp3 files so they can be used.

OOOH! I know how to do this! I use my iTunes music on the Sim Radio, but follow these steps:

-Open iTunes
-Rollover the Tab "Edit" in the upper left corner.
-Select "Preferences"
-In "General" Settings, click the button "Import Settings" (go a bit down)
-Select "MP3 Encoder" and "Higher Quality"
-Under the "Library" tab, click "Music"
-Right Click a song and select "Create MP3 Version..."
-Wait for new version
-Once created, right+click "copy" the MP3 Version of the song and paste it into the Custom Music folder.
-Open Sims3
-Check your radio. Done!  :)

Deleting the default songs may cause your custom radio to not work, but it worked fine for me. The KB measure doesn't matter. I have a nine minute song about 8,000KB. It's the kbps that matters.

If you need an alternate tutorial with pictures, ask me.
