Keeping yourself occupied in Sims 3
« on: March 18, 2012, 11:24:45 PM »
What do you guys do to keep yourself occupied?

Personally right now, I made my parents and then just gave birth to me and I'm going to see how my life turns out. Using memories and photo albums, I'm going to try re-create my life as best I can up to the point I am now (except rebuilding the other two houses I lived in because that would take too long since we don't have pictures of them xD).

I'm playing the Townie DecaDynasty right now and that will keep me busy for quite awhile.  When I need a break from it, I play other challenges from the tournament board or write articles for Carl.  I've got the Attack of the Clones challenge going on, but not sure I'll finish it.  And I'm playing a magician for the article for Carl.  With all of that going on, I don't usually have time for a truly casual game.

where shall I start?

I've got a orphanage project started, a elven legacy started, my Gems legacy started, the Attack of the Clone challenge started, a project to finish all lifetime wishes (now including Showtime) started, and casually trying out new features in Showtime.

Jumping all over the place depending on what my mood is.  Today its all about the Clone Challenge, tomorrow... who knows!

I would LOVE to go to Egypt!  lucky you!  I also had Indiana and Montana Jones, who were my tomb raiding exploring couple... but that game became all glitchy so I had to end it.  :(

I'm trying the Random Legacy challenge. You have to roll for each generation to see whether they get married, how many kids, what their career will be etc.

Also I'm working on creating a homeless legacy challenge of my own. Basic idea is to have 10 generations of homeless Sims. I'm testing my ideas as I go along.

The Random Legacy challenge?  is this on the boards? with rules?  I don't think I've seen it... link?  Sounds interesting as well!

So much to do, so little time.  (need to quit my day job so I may Sim to my hearts content!   ;D )

I split my time between two families at present, though there are a handful I play sporadically.  One is my One Hundred Baby family.  They're fun, but time-consuming.  The other is a fairy sort of family that involves some deliberate choices not to participate in mainstream society.  When I'm not feeling either one, I usually play around in CAS, or make a family and let them run around uncontrolled.   :P

I installed the story progression mod over the weekend and I'm busy tweaking and adjusting. I think this is going to be great fun. It's made me excited about playing again.

Building. I've always got a couple requests juggling around, along with my own needs.  It's actually more stressful then what you'd think. Ah well, at least it's a video game. :P

Also, feel free to request a home by PMing me! Always happy to help.

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P

Currently I am splitting my time between an 8 member family that has one of each performer in it and when that gets too hectic (which it does!) I started a non performer family in Union Cove with the intention of randomly rolling the traits of the child-to-be and trying to get myself to play past a second/third generation. I like random roll but I have a bad habit of getting all the worst traits.

I also try and work on my building and landscaping, because I am a terrible landscaper and good at interior decorating but rather basic and blah in my house building.

I'd love to try an immortal or townie dynasty but I can't because the inevitable glitches would turn me off.

I like playing multi-generational games with goals to strive for - so I'm a huge fan of the immortal dynasty and townie deca-dynasty challenge.  I've already completed 2 immortal dynasties and am working on my first townie deca-dynasty, but have taken a break from it to explore Showtime and earn some achievements.

I'm also playing around with some mods to see what enhances my game.  I may end up converting my deca-dynasty from official Hall of Fame attempt to an unofficial attempt so that I can use a couple of mods that really seem to improve game stability.
