After I started my legacy, I found out about the Random Legacy Challenge. I then used it to map out the rest of my legacy. I find the app for RLC to be great for casual gameplay too. There are so many things to do in sims, and sometimes I forget about a lot of the careers, like astronaut. The app can give you a guideline to play a family in a way you've never done before.

I recently installed Twallan's Story Progression Extra and Expanded mods into my game and I once I had it figured out, I started my Waldron story, and WOW does his Story Progression throw you some curveballs! It's helped me with my writing skills. Things that I didn't plan for showed up, and I've had to work around it. It wouldn't be nearly as fun for me to just ignore what Twallan's Story Progression tosses me.

Well, I save a bunch of townies to the bin, (YA or A; aging always off), then choose 8 of them and recreate "The Real World". Kinda like what i'm doing in my story, but with 4 people. When I was like 7, I made lovey dovey, "made for each other" couples then made them have kids. TONS. Like, some family file.

I tend to have loud opinions. So sorry. I got tons of issues, lol. I can also be found on Yahoo! Answers.

Random Legacy Challenge rules can be found here - http://randomlegacychallenge.blogspot.com/

Thanks!

*off to go check it out and perhaps add one more thing to my list of Sim games I'm playing*

Oh my gosh, they seem so complicated.  Or, rather, just setting it up seems so complicated!  It sounds really great, but I doubt I could hold all that in my head, even if I had written notes to help.

I am playing a family in Sunset Valley. To make it interesting, I am building houses for them - each one is more expensive than the one before it. They cannot move until they can afford it. No money cheats! That's not that easy for me :) I have four of the six houses built and they are living in number 3. All houses are at Pinocle Point so there will be a whole "hood."

It's not too bad. There's a massive amount to read, but it's pretty basic. I read through it all and made sure I understood what the goals entailed. Then when I did the rolling, I only had to look up a few things for specifics. I like to use the RLC roller as more of a guideline, though. There's no Hall of Fame, so there's no need to religiously stick to the rules lol.

What do you guys do to keep yourself occupied?

With Showtime, I have plenty enough to do at the moment, but once I've had my fill of that content there is one fallback that could keep me occupied for years:  building.

I really enjoy this almost more than actually playing the game.  With all of the different processes and cheats, there's a lot to figure out and master...and this is not to even mention all of the objects that you have to kind of "cheat" to get on your lot (like the Butterfly Pavilion I'm currently using to build a home).  Finding unique uses for certain objects is a lot of fun, and adds interesting aspects to any structure.

Plus, I have other bizarre projects in my head, like attempting to condense all of the starting genetics in Sunset Valley (at least to start with) down into a single Sim.  I have a tentative plan to accomplish this, but it's more of a long term project than anything.  :P

Do you show your builds in the Showboat thread?  I've read that you love to build, but I don't remember seeing your houses.

I've shown a couple houses, but the only thing I've really worked on lately is the Butterfly Pavilion house...which I had just barely got off the ground when Showtime was released, so there hasn't been any real progress lately.  This is my third attempt at this, and the previous two attempts fell victim to corruption.  :(

I don't usually like to just building something.  I prefer to build Legacy style with my Sims working to pay for all of the expenses.  Before Showtime, I had finally managed to get enough adult Sims under the "roof" to where I can finally make some real progress.  Actually, I think I may have some screenshots of what is done.  I'm going to look, and if I do I'm going to post them now.  :)

Edit:  It turns out that I did have those screenshots.
