Haha, his impatience and multiple attempts were humorous, however.  Come on, Vivian, you could have caught on to that.  I'm sure you had no choice.  I should have seen this coming.  To think I thought it was about the money.

Enjoyed the small talk with Bob the reaper as well.

That sound you hear is me smacking my own forehead. I should have known!

Well, I can't feel too terrible for Vivian. She definitely seemed to go out with a smile on her face. I'm glad she made him work for it. Not sure how much Artie is going to enjoy living in his pretty new house with one bonafide enemy and a bunch of grieving relatives, but I guess for the next two weeks that's his problem!

Who comes next? Modulated or Articulated? Either way, I'm excited!

@oshizu Wait til you see the picture that's a few down from this comment.  And yeah I did great with Artie.  We'll see how it goes with the others.  It's a new mentality for sure and I'm just not sure how to handle it but i'm trying.

Week 1 - Ankou (Part 1)

Articulated Voice - Hello readers.  I'd like to properly introduce myself.  I am Ankou Grimfang and this is the view you were afforded me before you were off to hang out with the Grim.


Ankou - This was the house that Adrasteia built for me just before sending me off on an errand.  It was meant to offer me protection while we were parted.
Addy - It did it's job.  You were alive when I came back, weren't you?
Ankou - That hardly qualifies as something to be proud of.  Now I'd like to take a moment to flashback and catch our readers up to my story from last Sunday.
Addy - If you must..
Ankou - I do.

First Sunday - 8:11 AM


Ankou - Think he's home?
Addy - Where else would he be?
Voice - Come In!
Ankou - Is that organ music?
Addy - Yes.


Vlad - I knew you would be coming by.
Ankou - You did?
Vlad - Yes.  you have something to ask of me.  And the answer is yes.  You can live in my town.
Ankou - That's not exactly what I was thinking.


Vlad - What do you mean you're not living here?
Ankou - I can't! It's in the rules!
Vlad - Bah.  Silly rules but if you must.  Then what were you here for?
Ankou - I was hoping that you would turn me.  What do you say?
Vlad - Who else would you ask?
Addy - I guess I shouldn't mention the other two.


Ankou - What happened to your face?
Vlad - Just stare into my eyes..
Ankou - I can't there is a bunch of green lines in the way.
Vlad - That's a good boy.


Ankou - Mmm.
Vlad - Yes.  Drink like a good boy.  Now stop.  I said stop!  -pushes at him-
Ankou - Sorry.. it's sweeter than I thought it would be.


Ankou - Oh I think it's upsetting my stomach.
Vlad - It is only temporary.


Vlad - Now get out!
Ankou - The increased volume of your voice is not required.
Vlad - *hisses*
Ankou - Okay well thank you and goodbye.


Ankou - After that there was the brief visit of the Grim to my house which you all saw from his perspective.  He decided to make enemies of me and the other contender. I was perfectly fine with this decision of his.  Setting up the stage early to make it easier for the heirs to continue the hatred.  Of course, his visit corresponded with something wonderful.
Addy - Wonderful? I thought you said it hurt.


Ankou - I will agree that it hurt at the time but now that I've had time to reflect on my own, it was a wondrous occasion.


Ankou - Especially the moment after when I had a chance to use my newfound strength against Artemis.  Victory was almost as sweet as my first taste of plasma.
Addy - You know it's hard to believe you're the man I met so many moons ago.


Ankou - Is this the face of the man you met at that time?
Addy - Definitely  not.
Ankou - It is a face that I wish to change with that watcher magic you've learned.
Addy - Remind me later, after you're doing telling your story.


Ankou - I think I am done and now my face is revealed. You are my watcher for the week and it's time to get things started. I am unsure of where to go from here honestly.
Addy - That makes two of us.
Ankou - Perhaps I should get some house guests.  I will need help leveling my powers, having a portrait made and eventually I will need a bride.  Correct?
Addy - Correct.  So do you want the Vatores then?
Ankou - No let's see what our options are, hm?
Addy - Sounds good...

Wow, you're off to a fast start with Artie. At least Vivian died happy, and probably none of your other Sims would want to do the Public Enemy aspiration anyway. Looking forward to seeing Ankou's new dark form.

Okay, so my eyes are not deceiving me. That is a Blue Artie. That's awesome!
I gotta say, though, Ankou is definitely winning in the categories of combat and awesome hair. Artie has some catching up to do!
Not the Vatores, huh?  Well, I'm very curious to see what the other options are as well. Hmm . . .

@oshizu Yes he got a club hate and some orange shorts and all other manner of weird details and I think penny loafers too! It was horrid but I fixed it.. eventually.

@MarianT Yeah I chose Public Enemy for two reasons. It's always Artie's starting aspiration and it wasn't something I wanted for an heir so it was an easy choice. 

@FrancescaFiori No.. you're right.  Ankou is remarkably like Artie's twin.. on purpose.  Blue skin, blue hair and blue eyes = Blue Artie.  Though Ankou has a history that we will get into at one point.  As for that other part. well here you go!


Previously on Grim...

Artie had a fantastic starting week knocking out a lot of the goals that were needed for his aspirations but now the watcher is moving on to House 2 - The Founding Home of the Grimfangs. Their leader Ankou, who is quite handsome if you ask Artie but a jerk, caught us up to what's been going on in his life and now we prepare to get his week started..

Ankou - I found these two ladies walking around before the sun came up.   And it's the strangest thing - They're both vampires and wearing the same jacket.  On top of that, they have the same first name.  The one in pink is Anvi Dattta and the ancient one is Anvi Gupta. As soon as I realized one was a Grand Master while the other was a Master, I considered it a sign and invited them into my gardening shack of a home.


Anvi White - So we understand you're just a fledgling looking for some possible roommates.
Ankou - * a little embarassed * Yes, that is correct.  I've only been active for a few short hours when I met you lovely souls.
Pink Anvi - Then we've come just in time just as you planned, Anvi.
Anvi White - We would like to offer our services to you.  Having higher ranked vampires would surely help you increase your standing amongst us. 


Ankou - You know. I agree.  Why don't you both move in with me?  You can show me the ropes as they say and I could always benefit from the knowledge of those above me.  You'll be watched vampires.
Pink Anvi - Yes but we have free will as well.  We will teach you what it means to be vampire.
Anvi White - Yes this will do nicely.  We may need a better home though.
Ankou - That is one of the things on my to do list but I just realized that with you two here that it might not be prudent to invite those that were already slotted to join my household. 
Anvi White - Don't worry we can help you.
Pink Anvi - Let's go grab a bite to celebrate.
Ankou - That sounds lovely. I've heard of this karaoke bar that's across from the open market that starts today.  It's covered to protect us and is sure to be quite lively.
Anvi White - He's so cute.


Ankou - I really wish you weren't watching.
Addy - You mean watching you still in your hideous clothes or giving in to your baser instincts in a fit of hunger.
Ankou - Both. 


Ankou - I can't believe I did this.  Look at him.  So weak.
Addy - It's because you drank deeply from him.  Same as Pink Anvi on the other woman.  It's one of the vampire ways. 
Ankou - I used to be about life. I'm not about to be about death.  Maybe there is a midground. 
Addy - Maybe.. but your vampire friends may not be the ones to ask.
Ankou - I'll look into it when we get home.  Start reading up on vampire lore.
Addy - Always a good start.


Addy - Trying your hand at mixology.
Ankou - Yes I do believe I'm going to attempt that as my career.
Addy - A good profession since making food would be odd.
Ankou - Just a little. Did you notice my companion over here is also of a similar shade.
Addy - Apparently you've started a trend.


Addy - What's wrong with them?
Ankou - I used one of my new powers on them.  I can make people see hallucinations.
Addy - And to think you could do that before you had powers.
Ankou - I thought we weren't going to talk about that.
Addy - I remember no such agreement.   You ready to head home?
Ankou - Yes back to the hovel.  We'll need two more coffins.
Addy - Oh.. right. 


Anvi White - You want to follow me to my home.
Eliza - I want to follow you to your home.
Anvi White - There a blue man will ask you an important question and you will agree.
Eliza - I will agree.
Anvi White - Good.  Let's go.


Ankou - Um.  Hello.
Eliza - Hi.  Are you the blue man that is going to ask me an important question.
Ankou - Mayhaps?  I don't know.  Who are you?
Eliza - Eliza Pancakes.  I live with my husband Bob over in Willow Creek.
Ankou - And do you have a lot of nice things Eliza Pancakes from Willow Creek.
Eliza - Yes I Agree.  Wait what?
Ankou - I don't understand..

* a little while later *


Ankou - So perhaps you and your spouse would like to join me and the Anvis in our domicile.  I'll allow you to pursue whatever career you wish.
Eliza - And one more thing.  I want you to promise me... *whispers*
Ankou - I don't know if I can promise that.. but I will do my very  best.
Eliza - Then that's all I ask for. Sure we'll move in with you.
Ankou - Excellent!
Addy - Oh.. guess I have to build now.


This lot severely inspired by one that I found on the gallery that was supposed to be a bar.  Combined with Ravenscroft by ruthless_kk I got some ideas and then made it my own.. A certain little firefly told me it wasn't nearly gloomy enough.. but I'm trying.  Newcrest is no Forgotten Hollow.

Eliza - Yeah I kind of like it.
Bob - Any particular reason we moved?

Bob - So a blue man just asks nicely for you to move in with him and you agreed?
Eliza - Yes exactly.  Don't worry we'll be getting something out of this too.
Bob - Mind sharing..?
Eliza - Not yet, dear.
Bob - Okay!  Well I suddenly want to do nothing but paint so if you'll get the dishes..
Eliza - As always.


Pink Anvi - I smell humans..
Addy - Yes you have two new roommates.. not mauling them please.
Pink Anvi - You take the fun out of unlife.  Wait.. My head feels different.
Addy - Everyone got makeovers while you were sleeping.  No more crazy dark form clothes.  No weird bob or beard to see day in day out.
Pink Anvi - Is the sun up?
Addy - Yes. so you'll have to figure out something to do


Ankou - Suddenly everyone wants my computer.  I coudln't even get to it.  How am I supposed to beat the other two factions if they won't even let me look up vampire lore!?
Addy - Calm down.. you're ruining Bob's focus.  Just research on the computer and then you can join the ladies in their reading.
Ankou - Reading why would I join them in their reading?
Addy - You'll see


Anvi White - It's so cute when they're clueless.
Pink Anvi - It really is.  Oooh I just found the plasma pack passage.
Anvi White - Not going soft on me are you?
Pink Anvi - Of course not but it doesn't mean I'm not curious.


Addy - Now do you understand?
All Three - Shhh!
Addy - Fine I'll go hang out with Eliza and the garden..

Wow, Ankou's new home looks fantastic and even more so in the dark of night!
I love that the lot looks like a creaky old abandoned church above ground, but harbors a coven of vampires plus the Pancakes in a spacious subterranean residence.

I'm curious to discover what Ankou's mid-ground aspiration will be. Good?
Fabulous luck finding the Anvi doubles right off the bat! Now Ankou doesn't need to kiss up to Vlad (or even leave home) to train!
Can't wait to read about the rest of Ankou's week!

There is something absolutely hilarious about Bob and Eliza Pancakes making polite chit chat about their lovely new accommodations in a vampire crypt and discussing how polite their vampire host is. I just love it.
Your Anvis are a delight as well. What a nice gift the randomizer gave you!
I've read Artie's Lunar Lunacy, but I'm not enough of an old-school Artie fan to know about Ankou's origins, but I'm very excited to find out more!

@sdhoey Yeah he's from a bit ago but it's fun to see some things come together.

@oshizu Yes.  The mid-ground is the Good Vampire one.  I thought it fitting for him really. Good Vampires can still drink from Sims but they have to ask permission kind of thing.  I'm curious to see if it's one of those "active" aspirations that I have to be there for as his days count off kind of thing.

@PeregrineTook He's had a lot of practice at being Artie. I think it's easy to forget sometimes that he's the way he is because after a while his antics aren't as in the spotlight when compared to everything else that goes on in a dynasty.  But he's enjoying being back in the spotlight.

@FrancescaFiori There is nothing wrong with no knowing the origins.  I will explain more as time comes because while I enjoyed the other dynasties from TS3 and my current one from TS4 I'm not going to make someone have to read those stories if you know what I meant.  I'm glad you're excited and I promise to eventually fill you in.

Bradford - You seem a little tense, sir.
Ankou - There are two bossy women in my life, a lazy man and his neat nitpicky wife.  They never let me near the computer and all I seem to do anymore is read read read.
Bradford - You obviously need to call a club meeting.
Ankou - A club meeting?
Bradford - Yes, a club where you and others like you have something similar going on and then you get together for entertainment.
Ankou - It is my night off.


Eliza - Excuse me. Can I help you?
Pink Anvi - I just wanted to introduce myself to you.  Hello.
Eliza - No you may not drink from me.
Pink Anvi - Your bad attitude would make it taste bitter anyway. No trust at all.


Addy - Wow Looking good there Bob.
Bob - Thank you.  I think I need to add a little more red down here..
Addy - Are you enjoying yourself?
Bob - I thought painting would be fun but it's not.  Though I guess it is rewarding, isn't it?
Addy - I think so yes.   Also as a warning, we're about to be flooded with vampires in the house.  Apparently Ankou has called on Spar Wars.
Bob - I heard the Anvis saying they needed wins for their aspirations.
Addy - Ahh that makes sense.


Anvi White - I will show you who's the better fighter.
Lilith - Bring it on old lady..


Lilith - *throws Anvi White into the air*
Anvi White - I may have underestimated you!


Lilith - What do you say now woman?
Anvi White - *faint* How about a rematch?
Addy - Really?  Wait who is fighting over there..


Addy - Oh yeah.. that looks all kinds of scary.  Sheesh.


Caleb - Do you yield?
Pink Anvi - Again!


Pink Anvi - *growling* how does it feel.
Caleb - I get it !  Put me down.


Pink Anvi - *drags Lilith around by the neck for her second win*
Ankou - Ladies Ladies.. don't break the massage table, it's new.
Lilith - What are you too chicken to fight?
Pink Anvi - We hadn't asked him yet.
Ankou - Don't want to embarass yourselves?
Pink Anvi - Let's go then..

Ankou - *gives Pink Anvi a toss with a growl*
Pink Anvi - *shocked speechless*
Addy - Hey.. calm down and finish the fights. It's almost noon.


Ankou *hisses at the sun*
Addy - Then don't go outside..
Ankou - The plants need watering.
Addy - It must make you so mad to remember the days when you could garden in peace..
Ankou - *flies back inside* Don't be a brat, Adrasteia.  It's only temporary.
Addy - At least until you get back to your research.


Addy - What's that?
Pink Anvi - I've decided to have a special little drink that I've just learned from my research.
Addy - What does it do other than leave a smoke trail behind you?
Pink Anvi - It resets my powers and allows me to take new weaknesses and new abilities.
Addy - Sweet.. let's work on that shall we? Also.. your dark side is showing.


Addy - What's wrong? 
Ankou - I was just thinking that I should probably go looking for a bride.
Addy - And what's wrong with the eligible ladies currently available?
Ankou - What do you mean?


Addy - Well?
Ankou - It's.. different. Not as hot, tastes like the smell of a hospital.
Addy - But could you live on it.
Ankou - Yes but I imagine it's like having soy cheesecake.  You know it's supposed to be the same but it's not exactly right.


Addy - You're making that face again.
Ankou - I thought about our other little problem and you're right. 
Addy - I am?
Ankou - It's time to put on the Grimfang charm.
Addy - Oh bother.


Ankou - You're looking quite resplendent this evening, Anvi.
Pink Anvi - I do believe that's the sparkles from the lot trait.
Ankou - No, it's the warm glow from a fresh feed.  The inspiration of a recent shower.  The focus of creating something from a block of wood.


Pink Anvi - Well aren't you a sweet talker.  I thought you'd never come around.
Ankou - What? I.. I don't know what to say. I just..
Pink Anvi - Where you going?


Ankou - I just need a moment.
Addy - No reason to be embarrassed.
Ankou - Easy for you to say though I'm not embarrassed.  I'm just consulting with my friend, Plasma 4.
Addy - Uh huh.
Pink Anvi - Ankou, sweetheart, come over here with me.. please. 
Ankou - *looks in her direction, firms his resolve* Be right there, m'dear.


Pink Anvi - Is there something you wanted to ask me, Ankou?
Ankou - *still slightly embarassed* Actually, yes there is, Miss Anvi.  You see. Well..
Pink Anvi - Yes?


Ankou - Anvi..
Pink Anvi - Hi Ankou..
Ankou - You're not going to make this easy on me, are you?
Pink Anvi - Not at all..


Ankou - I have a small.. proposition for you, m'dear.
Pink Anvi - I'm listening.
Ankou - You see I would really like to kiss you but I can't have you embarrassing me any further so I would like you to be honest and tell me if that would be a bad idea before I try.
Pink Anvi - Stand up with me, darling.
Ankou - If you wish..


Pink Anvi - *makes a move*
Ankou - Anvi!
Pink Anvi - You were moving too slow, youngling.


Ankou - Well in that case.  I have a new proposition for you.  *Face changes a little bit*
Pink Anvi - Now I'm really listening..
Ankou - *leans in for a whisper*
