Why oh why do I create more work than I need.  Sorry about the delay in this post, I was so busy working on my founder, I couldn't drag myself away to do this.

Finally done though and On with the Show

Chapter 4 - The Diary of Deadly Selkirk

Author's Note:  I used Alexander Selkirk as inspiration for this, Selkirk was a real life person,
marooned on an island for 8 years, discovered by William Dampier and crew and used as inspiration for R.L. Stephenson's Robinson Crusoe.

Ship's Log - Day 16

The pages of the ancient log almost crumbled at my touch.  It was a journal, the last thoughts of a doomed trio of castaways.



We are doomed.  Cast on this forsaken shore with no food or supplies.  It is a desolate place, with no fruits or game to be found.  We discovered a small stream and followed it until our path was blocked by an impassable waterfall.



We scarmbled ashore, tired and starving and frantically looked for shelter.



O'Reardon made a fire, and we huddled together to keep warm.



But the effort proved too much for him, we buried him in the morning.



We were desparate,  and scoured the waterfall for some kind of sustenance.  It wasn't long until Cedric found the chamber.  A vault lined with strange runes.
Inside, under shafts of bright sunlight was the answer to our prayers (or so we thought.) 
A strange glowing fruit, dark flower and strange fish, black as the night.



Cedric could not contain himself, he greedily grabbed the fish and started eating.  It was to be his downfall, in seconds he had aged decades and perished before my eyes.



Leaving Death himself standing in his place....

The Reaper hissed at me.
"Sooooon I will come for youuuuuuu"
I pleaded with him.  Surely there was a way that could be left alive!



"There isssssss one way.  You musssst accomplish my three tassssssks."
I readily agreed.

"My first tasssssk is to ready your body and mind.  Only thossse who have masssstered themselvessss may survive."
I set to work.





"My ssssecond tasssssk is to discover your dreamsssss.  Only thossse truly content may survive."
My dream since I was a lad was to run my own tavern. 
I set to work.



"Your final tasssssk isss to be loved.  Only those sssurounded by family and friendssssss may survive."

Noooooooo!  Cruel death had cheated me.  My companions were dead, my family on the other side of the earth, there would be no way I could complete death's third wish.

With a wicked laugh, Death vanished, leaving me here.... alone..... doomed.

Failed the challenge.

My first immortal ate ambrosia after I thought I had completed all the requirements.

It wasn't until my second heir was buying his building / property that I discovered that Long John had bought Varg's Diner and Landlubber Bank (Both properties, not one building and one property.)

Careless, stupid mistake.

Oh well.

Awww!  Sorry to hear that.  Well, you can't get HoF status, but you can continue story wise, if that's what you want, or do a restart.

Sorry that you failed your dynasty.  I was liking your pirate themed dynasty. I like pirate movies. But, you can restart it somehow with the same founder.
