Sims 3 mods not working

I followed this guide

copied the "mods" folder with Packages, Overrides and resources.cfg
The No intro mod didnt work since the EA intro showed up. What did I do wrong??
Im on version 1.7.9.002002

and I also installed it in documents/ea/sims3/ not programs

I'm not sure what's happening with your game. Though you may want to check your patch level - that maybe a problem. the current patch levels for 3 are:

Playing via original discs - 1.67
Playing via Origin/EA App - 1.69
