"Train a Sim" interaction (athletic skill)

Does training have any affect on skill building speed or relationship building? From what I've noticed it's negligible if at all. Thanks.  =)

Ah, sorry. I left out some information. I meant the "Train a Sim" interaction for the athletic skill specifically. Does that impact the speed to which a Sim gains the Athletic skill and benefit positive relations?

I am not sure. I did find this information on Sims Wikia - Allows the Sim to train another Sim. This will boost the Athletic skill gain rate of the trainee.
