Mods

Hi,

After some problems, I finally got the Sims 3 working on my Win 11 computer.  I had to disable OneDrive to do it.  Anyway, I used to have Mods Master Controller. Error Trap, Overwatch and Traveler, as well as '10 Unique Adventures per day.  On Nraas site, some of these have 2 download options for version 169.  I don't know if I need to download just 1, 2, or both.  Any advice?

As a general rule, if a mod has two versions (say, MasterController, which currently has version 134 and version 135), you want the most up-to-date version (and only that version).

For mods like ErrorTrap, which has version 100, plus Patch 1.67, pick the one corresponding to how you play TS3. If from disk pick the CD download icon, from Steam pick the Steam logo, otherwise, version 100. Since its a core mod, you should be aware reasonably quickly if you got the wrong download. :-)

Thanks, Seabody.  Appreciate you.  I was beginning to think that no one was going to respond.  I am one of those dinosaurs that still plays Sims 3, even though I occasionally play Sims 4.

I am now hesitant to try and load Mods onto Win 11.  The process seems to be different.  When I downloaded the FrameworkSetup zip folder to the Sims 3 file, I expected that a Mods folder would automatically be created.  But that did not happen.  I was thinking of just adding my Mods folder from my previous Win 10 Sims game, but I just couldn't chance it.  Anyone out there who can help me (Seabody, Mrs Flynn)?

Hi Skip,

Sorry for not responding sooner, but I am happy Seabody was able to answer your question.

We have kept our Creating a Mods Folder how to fairly up to-date. I haven't updated it since 2024, but nothing has changed with Sims 3 in the way of installing mods.

You can either create a mods folder yourself using the how-to linked below,  use the one (ModsFramework.zip) from ModtheSims or use the Sim 3 (Mods.zip) folder I shared on SimFileShare. The mods folder from MTS and the one I have shared are already put together. All that needs to be done is add the mods and custom content.

Both folders that I offer are from 2023 and still work fine.

Hope that helps!! :)
