Okay, so for some reason, Leighton in my dynasty isn't getting the age transition. If it's okay to resetsim, should I do so? If not, what exactly should I do? (And what should I do if resetsim doesn't work?)

Go ahead and resetSim him.   When you say he's not aging, do you mean it's his birthday and he won't do it?  Is he under some type of transformation or spell or mood light?

I once had a sim with the "0 days in till adult" bar for two or three days and then they aged. Maybe that is what forgivingsoul means.

He's at the end of his stage and he's not getting the transition. I had my heir get her birthday, but Leighton won't get the "sparkles" or even a notification of it.

Edit: So reseting him did it. He just had his birthday right on the sidewalk outside the house...in his underwear.  well it worked. Thanks. I didn't want to lose when I was only on generation two. That would've been a bummer.

I'm starting my first dynasty, and am totally lost. 
Is there somewhere on my Sims where I can look at all the opportunities they've done, or do I just need to record them on my own?
And does each generation have to buy and upgrade a property before they eat ambrosia?

All questions should be asked in the dynasty threads so I'm going merge this with the Immortal Dynasty for you.

All opportunities have to be recorded by you.  I suggest a spreadsheet, notebook or using their bio spot to write them down.

As for property - yes each generation has to buy a business and a property and it has to be that immortal that does it.   

(Unless you're talking one of the other two dynasties.  Townie DecaDynasty ambrosia is reserved for non heirs.  Life States ambrosia can be used by anyone but an heir up until an heir finishes their requirements. )

Rica, I can't get past the startup screen logo. I am playing the Immortal Dynasty. Is it okay to use the mod that bypasses that screen (no intro, I think) so that I can play that file?

Do you know if it will even work?  Someone told me they were having issues loading then they downloaded the superpatch and most of their issues went away.  I'd almost rather you try that first.

I have tried the super patch. I was able to load a non Dynasty game with the no intro mod so I thought I'd ask.

One more to try.  With the launcher open, go into your Sims 3 folder and remove all .tmp files from the DCCache.  Then try to load the game.

I have done that and cleaned all caches. I did a factory reset too before I did the super patch. I wonder if it has something to do with Windows 8 on my PC. I think I will put this on hold until Isla Paradiso comes out and then try again. Thanks for your help.

The reason I'm saying do that is because the .tmp files in the DCCache are doubling the size of your content therefore taking the game twice as long to load from that file.  However those files will recreated every time you open the launcher so they have to be deleted after you've opened the launcher and before you hit the play button.

I understand. I don't want to mess up this try because I'm so close to my first immortal. I will wait until I'm less frustrated

I'm working on this with someone to see if I can find a better way and I'd rather try a non mod way if that makes sense.  You are right though, with Island Paradise coming some of the issues might be fixed.
