Sims 2 - music plays but stereos and tvs are turned off.

Finally decided to give it a try and I've already run into problems. For some reason, music plays on every lot I select to play. It's focused inside the house as if it were coming from a source, but all stereos and TV's are turned off.

Game hasn't aged well at all. I think it actually runs worse than The Sims 3 now, with GraphicsRules updated and everything.

This may be a game glitch. I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done about it, as trying to search on this doesn't show anything that helps.
