Playable Ghost Questions

Oh ok I got you. Hey at least they can try to look at it. I can't see pictures from my mobile. I have never heard of Photobucket until I joined here. Do I have to pay for it? I am very skeptical of having to download things to my computer. I will look it up and learn more about it before I use it.

Photobucket is free unless you more storage.  But the free storage is normally plenty.  I have a paid account, but only recently because of all the images I use here on the Forum.  Plus, I take lots of random screenshots in Sims 3 that Carl and Metro can use whenever they want.  You won't have to download anything to your computer.  You'll just sign up for an account and upload your pictures.  The instructions for using Photobucket on the Forum are here.

You're using the in-house image hosting and it will only put a thumbnail in posts.  It does show the bigger image when you click on it, but Leto may be using a mobile device that doesn't allow him to do that.

Not anymore Pam. Although not constantly. I have an (hopefully stable) internet connection on my laptop since this morning I saw.
But the forum still looks the same on a mobile device, the screen layout is only smaller and therefore so are the pictures. But in comparisment with viewing this all on a computer and laptop, the picture still was small I thought to see.

I think this is the right place to spread some ghostly tips: if you have a mortuarium in your house like I do (creep that I am...) you could consider in placing a bed, a tv, bench, and a table with chairs in that room. That will prevent your ghostly ancestors to go downstairs to sleep on the beds of the living, watch tv in the wrong room or start playing laptops on your diner table. Yes, sims can take laptops with them to the afterlife when they cross over. This can make the mortuarium actually look a bit more welcoming.

By the way. do you receive the ghost oppertunity if a friend of the family dies? In my Firefighter save game, Ms. Riddle passed away, and my firefighter Sim received the oppertunity, and it's now hogging up a slot. I want to save it when my Sims spouse (the Knack girl) dies.

Oh, and Story Progression put the Knack girl in the curliary career, even though she wanted to be in the business career, so now, since she had a baby, she doesn't have enough time to complete her LTW. How can you be so cruel, Story Progression? It's OUR job to be cruel!

I have no idea. I believe that they take the laptop just with them when they die, or at least the ghost of the laptop (as far as that even make sense) because they don't give laptop items away when passing over.

Considering that: I could try something... Adding the ghost to the household again when they are playing games to see if I can take that ghostly laptop. Hmmm, if that even work I will post a topic about it. Hold on.

I can confirm this! As you know, Gunther Goth comes with 2 laptops and when I did the gold digger a little bit ago, they automatically went to his widow!

Ok, I just made Victor Goth come back to life via Ambrosia. Since he did not live on the lot- he left. I am trying to get him to marry my sim. They are already boyfriend and girlfriend since he has been a ghost, I invite him over for the romance, but still no option for engagement. Is there something I don't know?

Does it still show they are boyfriend and girlfriend?  This is a little different but I had a Sim who had a boyfriend, he moved out of town and there was no way for her to get a hold of him to break up.  So she was never able to be in a relationship with another Sim, just romantic interest.  Maybe the games sees the ghost of Victor as a different Sim than the living Victor.

Yes it still showed them as boyfriend and girlfriend. I ended up deleting that file out of frustration. I will try it again without trying to get them into a relationship prior to them coming back to life. I still do not understand why. I can see what you are saying about the game seeing a difference between the ghost and him, but still that is weird.

Okey, I have tried to 'borrow' the ghost laptop but it didn't work. Also when I shift clicked to make him selectable I couldn't move him around actually. He still plays his ghost laptop though while teasing me like: 'Look what I got and you won't have!' Tsss, stupid ghost. He should be happy I didn't remove his gravestone in revenge.
