Good news everyone! I have my new computer, so I can start simming in earnest once again, after getting everything installed, maybe as soon as Thursday! This means transferring this dynasty off of the rommie's comp, so there may be a lull while I ensure the file moves successfully. I'm currently on gen 4 with this story though, so I should still be posting updates semi-regularly.
And yes, Malley, the Steel's should reappear again soon, the guy who built my computer said he rescued that file off of the hardrive.
Colette is such a pretty name
I like the memorial in the backyard. Very nice but sad at the same time
I've been very fond of the name since first playing tales of symphonia. I'm also going with french-themed names for this dynasty. Colette means 'victory of the people'. Wait until you see the first basement of the house, small memorials for all the mortals. It's getting creepy how much ghost action is going on at the O'Neil's...
Chapter 6Ellie
The first day at uni was very hard for aunt Jean and JC. Uncle Matthew's passing had hit us all hard, but the fresh air and summer season helped to perk us all up a bit once we got our bearings.

We added a bit onto the house and updated it. The three of us couldn't all live in a one-bedroom for two terms after all!

JC and I stayed up in the loft when we weren't studying. It was fun, even though we were all the way across the room from each other, we could talk all night without getting our phones out. The white board was also a lot of fun, even if some of the things we used it for were less then school appropriate.

I began working on sculpting once I got my station going. Dad wasn't going to live forever, and someone would need to make the ice sculptures for the incoming Immortals. Oh yes, I know all about the dynasty, JC told me when we were children. I had planned on marrying him when I was a child, before I found out that cousin-marriage is illegal in Bridgeport. Oh well, I know JC will come back for me when everything is over. Maybe after a trip in the sim bin...I'll do my part, and anything else I can for my cousin's sake. Even if pretty girls are watching, and making me wonder about getting engaged so quickly, and women in general...

JC managed to max, then supermax his fishing skill, and even caught deathfish at school! What an amazing feat! Even his science-defying sun burn couldn't get him down. Until the peeling started, but by then he was busy studying for finals, and a simple blast of the Moodlet Manager fixed that for him. The only person more excited then him was Aunt Jean, who wrote about 5 blog post about her son's fishing, losing quite a few followers since it was all in the same day.

This salmon was number 350. At least, I think it's a salmon. Not my area of expertise. I think he had it sent off to be mounted, but it wound up not arriving until the term was over.

We all managed to graduate with a 4.0. Aunt Jean got a degree in Business, I got mine in Fine Arts, and JC got his in Science and Medicine. I also got an honorary degree in Science and Medicine, as my mother's dream was to see me be a scientist and I wanted to make her happy. My career wasn't all that important to me, my real duty was to the dynasty. We all learned a lot at university. And not just about the world, but ourselves. Aunt Jean discovered what we had all long suspected, she was Neurotic. I learned that I was a natural cook, and JC discovered that he loved to swim. Can you believe that he had never swum before? All that time he spent fishing as a child and teen, and he never made it into the water himself.

When we got home JC put the fish he had caught away, completing his lifetime wish. He became a self-employed angler, and sold most of the remaining fish to further his career, though he confided to me that it wasn't really what he wanted to do with his life.

When I got walked in the door, my parents told me they had both rolled wishes to see me married. Dad was already 88, so I didn't have anytime to waste. I prepared myself for matrimony. Now, don't get me wrong, Sebastian Striker is a good person. He takes after his dad, so Dad tell me. Uncle Matthew was best friends forever with Richie, Seb's father, just as JC and I are. But...uni had made me question a few things. If things had gone differently, if I wasn't already engaged, there were a few wonderful women I would have gone out with. That's life, I guess. In any case, I loved my dress, and did want a family, so here I was.

Walking down the aisle.

Though he wished me well, I couldn't help but notice that JC stood apart from everyone else cheering us on. And the look on his face didn't quite sit right with me. Looking back on it later, I would recall that a similar look had been on my face when he and Caroline wed.

Sebastian was insistant that we consumate our marriage, and dragged me over to uncle Matthew's trailer before I could think of a reason to say no. I'm a bit embaressed that my first woo hoo was in public. The paparazzi were actually waiting outside of the trailer when we did emerge, and I couldn't help but caste a guilty glance towards Uncle Matthew's grave, but it seemed he wasn't going to visit us tonight. It's probably for the best, Seb may be brave, but meeting a ghostly in-law the night you get married is a bit much.

Whatever was bothering him seems to have passed, he was my first dance at the wedding reception after my dad.

Sebastian and I danced as well, though it wasn't as romantic as I had hoped. His suit left something to be desired, though he claimed it made more sense then anything else with the cold weather.

We cut the cake, and the party slowly wound down. Sebastian joined the military soon afterwards, and I worked on painting, sculpting and cooking in between work and cleaning. I wonder if this is how marriages in the rest of the family have been. I didn't think being married would be quite so...lonely. At least there's plenty of left-over wedding cake. Hopefully I can have a baby soon, someone of my very own to love as only a mother can. But I'm torn, our household is full, and I don't want dad to go just yet...He says he understands, and promises to visit so that he can meet his grandson. I wonder why he's so sure I'm going to have a boy?
