Baby Boomer 2017

Goal
It's time once again for the annual forum favorite - Baby Boomer. As always the goal is for your starting couple to have as many kids as possible - age them up quickly in order to make room for more kids.

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules
  • Create two Human YA in CAS, a mother and a father.
  • You must choose the Private Dwelling lot trait to prevent abductions.
  • You are allowed to place a spa, restaurant, and use the Kids Room Stuff pack.
  • All traits for children must be random. Please use this site to assist you in that regard. The Aspirations you roll from the linked site in the Child and Teen stages must be completed before you can choose another Aspiration. Aspirations after the initial one is completed do not need to be random. Before rolling for the Teen aspiration, uncheck the 2 Family aspirations, the Leader of the Pack aspiration, the City Native aspiration, the 3 vampire aspirations, and the Grilled Cheese aspiration.
  • No more than two adoptions (must only be baby stage) allowed per week.
  • Weeks begin on Sundays at 8 a.m.
  • No moving allowed.
  • No contact with Jasmine Holiday — no visits and no calling her.
  • The only additions allowed are adopted babies or babies born in household to the mother.
  • The teen aspirations should be unique.
  • Bowling content is not allowed as it comes out after the challenge begins.
  • The game ends when your father ages up to Elder.

Aging Up and Moving Out the Kids
  • A Baby may only be aged up early if both parents are Good Friends with the baby.
  • You may only age up a Toddler early if they are potty trained and have lvl 2 in all skills.
  • You may only age up a Child early if they have finished an Aspiration and have a B school average.
  • You may only age up a Teen early if they have a B school average, lvl 2 at a teen job, and a BFF.
  • You may only move out a Young Adult if they have finished an Aspiration and maxed one skill no other Young Adult has maxed.

Scoring

Your score is based on how many Young Adults have been moved out at the point when your father ages up to Elder. You also receive points based on the life stage of the remaining offspring in the household:

YA Out — 5 pts for every Young Adult moved out.
YA In — 4 pts for every Young Adult remaining.
Teen — 3 pts for every Teen remaining.
Child — 2 pts for every Child remaining.
Toddler — 1 pts for every Toddler remaining.
Total — Add all the columns together to obtain your Total.

A little spreadsheet to help keep you organized can be found here.

Ch-Ch-Changes
The team does not want to edit and make changes to the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else we reserve the right to ask affected players to redo their effort.

Have Questions?
Please think hard before you ask in the challenge thread because it may be strategy. What you may consider an innocent question could cause another player to go — “oh, I did not think of doing that.” It’s always safer to PM everyone on the team (Metro, ratchie, LenaLJ, Trip, and MarianT) for clarifications. Thanks.

And the Winner is...
After this event has closed everyone is encouraged to discuss how they approached the event, but the winner especially is expected to do so in detail.

The spreadsheet linked in the rule set is still from last year's event - Lena knows this and will update it to reflect the changes soon.

One of my favorites too. Will need to take a break from my Rival Dynasty Challenge for this one.

Can I just confirm that potty trained means level 3 not level 2? Thanks.

Yes. Your toddlers have to max potty training and get the other skills up to 2.

I remember that the social butterfly aspiration is very difficult to finish especially when there are not enough children around. Am I allowed to add some more children to the neighborhood?

No, you're not allowed to add any Sims to the neighborhood except for your starting couple. Usually, it's only people doing long-term dynasties who run into trouble with finding children to befriend.
