Problems Updating Origin?!

If you're having problems updating, it's been suggested to try the following tips: (Please see notes below)

1. Fully exit out of the game and Origin. - If exiting Origin isn't working, open Task manager (Ctrl-Shift-Esc) search for a file called ts4.exe. Click on it and select end process.

2. Restart the computer and try again to see if Origin automatically starts downloading any free and/or owned content.

3. Try resetting the installation folder for Sims 4.

To do this, go to Origin and click Application Settings, select the Installs and Saves tab and re-select the location to install the game to.

For example: Install Sims 4 to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Game

This should help Origin reset the download and see any new updates or content ready to download and install.

4. Login to Origin, Click on Origin > Order History, check to make sure the pack has been purchased and everything is good. No transaction pending or card denied. - If this is the cause, contact EA's Customer Service.

5. Delete Origin Cache

6. If you're in a place with limited internet, try going some where else like a local coffee shop or library to update the game to see if that helps. As there may be something blocking access to Origin.

7. Whether using a laptop or desktop computer you can use your mobile phone device as a temporary Wi-Fi hotspot for internet connectivity.

8. As last resort - Try uninstalling/reinstalling Origin.

You don't loose any Sims 4 files, as they are installed in different folders. If you are concerned about this copy the Sims 4 folder to a USB key.

Run Ccleaner and it's and it's registry cleaner. After uninstalling Origin.

Ccleaner - Standard Edition is Free

-- This helps clean up temporary files, internet cache files and other files that are left behind that are no longer being used after the uninstall process.

Notes:

*** It will not update if the game is running in the background.

If you're still having problems:

Check if there are programs that are conflicting with Origin, and check to see if Origin may be being blocked by your firewall. (See more links below)

Check that you do not have any programs running that my cause conflict with Origin.
