A Townie Dynasty with Leeway 7.53: Virtually Bubbly
« Reply #350 on: May 10, 2018, 06:31:42 AM »

7.53: Virtually Bubbly

Week 37/Friday

Guaca: I started this third free day before the children's birthdays.
But they were both rather close to earning Top-Notch Toddler, so we help them finish.

Then, our Top-Notchers start Artistic Prodigy, lovingly encouraged by their Grandpas.

Due to reader support, my wife Kari emerges from her garden exile.
She resentfully continues to paint, while dropping queues as often as possible.
I mentor her to Painting 10. She's on her own now.

Kari (glares): What's so important about being productive, anyway?
Why can't I simply watch TV and play video games all day?
That adopted kid, Bubb, isn't even really mine!

Saturday

On ageing up, our heir Virtua Lee (left) gains the Creative trait.
And Bubb Lee (right) is so named for his new Outgoing trait.

Bubb's a bit of a wonder. He aged up about 2.5 hours after Virtua did.
But when Virtua's done with her 5 types of drawings, he's played violin for 3 hours already.

Speaking of productive, let me boast a bit about my sister Paize Lee.
After maxing Freelance Botanist last night, she's explored all the dig sites in our hood.
Since this morning, she's invented two cloning machines, a satellite dish, and an upgraded SimRay.

I'm already regretting my decision to buy the kids a hedgehog.
Do you think they'll autonomously study the hedgehog to insta-complete their homework?
Yeah, neither do I. And my free time is better spent with the fam.

That hedgehog has the oddest effect on Scamp, though.
The moment I buy it, Scamp runs outside and lies down on his Barbarian's Bed.
(That bed comes with the My First Pet stuff pack.)

Papa Bull says the same bed's been bought for Scamp's at Granada Place and Tail's End.
But this is the first time Scamp's used that bed on his own.

Week 38/Sunday

Have you heard about Eden Ray yet?
She's been a not-in-the-world teen for the past five generations. That's crazy!
Very attractive after a make-over, don't you think?

Scamp: Are you thinking what I think you're thinking?
Guaca: I'm waaaaay ahead of you! Can you hear the pitter-patter of little paws?

Scamp: Kailee Kidd and Bull's brother Deft do push-ups in front of the house.
Man, Deft, that must hurt!
Kailee Kidd is the mother of Iconica Lee's husband Ralph.
But when did Kailee become a daywalker? So many daywalkers around these days!

Scamp: So, what do you think, Virtua?
Virtua: All the hedgehog does is run around in its cage and squeak?
Scamp: Yeah.
Virtua: Boring. I'm not taking care of it!

Monday

After midnight, it's just me and my clubmates.
Looks like Aarohi's feeling a little jealous about Eden's makeover.
While playing chess, I ask Aarohi to mentor me and we become good friends. (1 point)

I get caught off-guard by Paize, who sits nearby and starts insulting me.
Distracted by Paize, I accidentally master Logic. (3 points)
Darn it all! I'd planned to stop at Logic 9!

I've only been living here for 16 days and I'm already tired of this heir business.
All morning, I chase after Virtua, Bubb, and Paize to "discuss cognitive focusing exercises."

My Gourmet Cooking leaps 3 levels while cooking a pet food recipe for Scamp!
Three freaking levels, causing me to max that skill. Sheesh! (5 points)

On their first day of school, Virtua (but not Bubb) earns a B! (6 points)
Once again, we're earning points too quickly so I hire a butler and order a pizza (4 points)

I can just tell this is going to be one of those weeks. *sighs

Tuesday

Scamp: What are you doing out here?
Guaca: Virtua went to bed, so I'm finishing up her school project.
Scamp: Is that legit?
Guaca: Who knows? But Papa Bull did it for me when I was a kid.
And, by the way, I'm keeping that new, awful butler for another day. ( 3 points)

I sold off the big plushies to keep the kids focused on Whiz Kid.
Papa Bull kept smashing the treehouse, so I sold that, too.
After being insulted by Paize, though, I've bought back one of the big plushies.
I'd rather Papa Bull slug the plushie than argue with the family.

As soon as Bubb wakes up, I herd him over to where I put his school project.
I'm telling you, as soon as both kids earn As, I'm done with school projects!
He starts too late and "we" don't have time to finish his project before school.

Thanks to finishing "her" project on time, Virtua earns an A this afternoon. (4 points)
Bubb brings home a B grade at last! (5 points)

There's a reason why Bubb is Mental 9 while Virtua is  only Mental 6.
Virtua sits down on the sidewalk to do her homework, but not Bubb.
Bubb autonomously goes to "Study rodent," finishing his homework 50% faster.
Not only that, he masters his Mental skill. (7 points)

In the evening, Scamp ages up so I give him an Age-Down Treat.
Paize earns a promotion (8 ) but I hire a caterer. (7 points)
And, after all that, I help Bubb with a school project for tomorrow.
Can my life get any more hectic, I ask you?

Wednesday

I've been thinking lately why being heir gives me so little joy.
Looking back, Papa Bull always seemed so happy and I've figured out why.
My fathers loved each other deeply and always supported each other.
Bubb and I never wanted for attention.

Because Kari only lazes around, I've come to dislike her. I can't help it.
Whatever! Paize made me a SimRay last weekend.
I'll take my frustrations out on our butler.  (6 points)

Today, I'm extremely happy with Bubb!
First of all, he brings home an A grade. (7 points)
Secondly, he brings home a friend whom I read to for two hours, hehe.
Completing that goal for Big Happy Family earns me 1,000 satisfaction. (8 points)
Incidentally, nobody knows why Bubb came home dressed like that. Ugh!

Grandpa Ralph's mother comes over and I almost invite her in.
But then I check everyone's contact list and nobody knows her.
Instead, I relock all the doors and she hisses a bit then leaves. *shrugs

Thursday

Looks like we're keeping the butler into the next free day. (7 points)

Before school, Virtua masters Mental at the science experiment table. (9 points)
And she speeds through her homework for the first time using Study Rodent.
Good job!

In the evening, I become good friends with my clubmate Nobuya Nakamura.
That's the 10th point, people. Let's start our fourth free day!
Thank heavens, I'll be free of all this on Friday of next week!

Free Day #4 (10 points)
Promotion (5):
     Career (1): Paize/Scientist 8
     School (4): Virtua/B & A, Bubb/B & A

Wow, Kari, you are not a likable Sim at all XD No wonder poor Guac is so stressed out!  At least he has his dad's there to help out.  Wow, can't believe Ramiro is still bubbling.  That's gonna be hard :( Virtua and Bub are great ^^

Virtua, is such a pretty child, cant wait to see her watch up and that she takes over. No offence Guacamo, but your daughter is just stunning.
And yay for the fact that you have colourfull sims.

@Shewolf13
Both Guaca and his watcher are very stressed out, haha. His kids are usually pretty good but will start making messes if Guaca isn't constantly vigilant.
Kari's back in the main house; she doesn't mind the messes. But about Guaca's fathers...

@LenaLJ
I must have been in a terrible mood while playing and writing up that last update--Guaca just seemed so unattractive to me.
This update, however, I like him very much. His lips and chin stick out oddly, but he's been good to his children and to his fathers. :D
The next time I play this file, I'll be ageing up Virtua and her brother. But honestly, I can't wait to see what my Gen4 Sharebear heirs look like.  :P

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway 7.54: Guaca Regains His Mojo
« Reply #354 on: May 12, 2018, 12:55:19 AM »

7.54: Guaca Regains His Mojo

Week 38/Thursday

To backtrack several hours, Guaca takes everyone to Chez Llama after school's out.
Bull: You even brought her!
Guaca: Well, she's Virtua's birth mother, though we have broken up.
When Virtua moves out, Kari and I will go our separate ways.
There's just one week left of my era, so I'm done stressing over her.

I go to look for the kids, who are doing their homework on the kitchen floor.
On my way back, I greet a few other diners nearby.

Guaca: Well, hello there! Is this your first time at Chez Llama?
Prisha: Why, yes! Do you have any recommendations?
Guaca: I would suggest the garlic breasts. They are divine!
Prisha: Garlic breasts?
Guaca: No, no. I mean, garlic bread. Bread!!! *kicks himself internally

Then I meet another diner who captivates me to no end: Artharv.
He starts feeling flirty, standing there with his fists clenched and all.
Before I make a fool  of myself, I return to my table.

Ramiro: Don't look now, son, but someone's staring a hole into the back of your head.
Guaca (whispers back): Ssshhh, I know! I can feel it!
But  I can't do this now. I'll contact him after the free day…

Back home, the free day starts and Papa Bull struggles with the thought of mortality.
Bull: I want to die first. I can't imagine life without you, Ramiro.
Ramiro: Don't say that. Once we die, we can be reborn and find each other again.

Guaca: I'd built them a little corner in the back, thinking they'd want to renew their vows.
I never expected my evil erratic Papa Bull and hotheaded unflirty Papa Ramiro to become such lovebirds.

Friday

Here's a close-up of Virtua Lee.
She and Bubb both take a vacation day from school to make the most of the free day.

I guess it's never too early to give the hedgehog a permanent anti-ageing treat.
When I take the hedgehog out to play, I'm surprised to find it quite adorable.

Except that it bites my nose then grins, that hateful little demon spawn.
Yeah, yeah, go run on your pointless treadmill.
Thankfully, I'll be selling you when I move with Virtua. *glares

Some weeks ago, I built this basement room to store columns and violins.
Whenever I think an increase in household funds might earn me more points, I buy a violin.
Now I want to buy a violin then sell harvestables, but I can't enter Build mode.
Nooooooo, Papa Ramiro!

Ramiro: Thank you for coming, Grim. I'm ready to leave this world.
Grim: I see you've lived a long and happy life, Ramiro. Your family adores you.
Ramiro: Yes, I was just living aimlessly until I met Bull.
Grim: Don't worry, Ramiro. Bull won't be keeping you waiting for long.

Bull: I can't believe Ramiro is gone!
Watcher makes me drink a moodlet solver to lift me out of my grief.
Pulling myself together, I share vampire knowledge with Virtual until she's Level 8.
Virtua: Thanks, Grandpa! That's enough vampire knowledge for today.

Saturday

After nightfall, I take Virtua and Scamp with me to Chateau Frise.
I want Virtua to meet Ricardo Duran for later.
Seeing such a big house completely empty is shocking.
Scamp could care less. He loves the beach proximity and pool.

Week 39/Sunday

Virtua is such an angel! I go looking for her to recommend that she play the violin.
I find her cleaning up dishes then she starts playing on her own.
It's a great opportunity for me to mentor her until her nap time.

Skipping Social Butterfly during the last free day, Bubb played chess instead.
And today, Bubb masters his Logic skill. (2 points)
I didn't have to tell Bubb to go do that, either! I'm so proud of the kids!

Monday

When Paize plays the violin on her own, I mentor her until she hit Violin 10. (4 points)
My last free day is planned for Friday, though, so I hire a butler. (3 points)
Next, I buy myself the Always Welcome and Observant reward traits. (1 point)

Then, I immediately fire the new butler because I learn he's squeamish.
We need a butler that Virtua can keep throughout her teen years.

Everyone's been sad and worried ever since Scamp ran away yesterday afternoon.
I can't tell if he runs off because he's a troublemaker or because he's adventurous.
Anyway, he returns with fanfare and prezzies today, the flea-infested scruffbag!

Tuesday

Bull: Shimuzu brings back such memories! Ramiro and I once had a date at this very table.
You knew that, didn't you?
Guaca (feigns interest in menu): Um, I might have looked through your photo album.
Bull: Did you also know I received my second notice from Grim this morning?
I can't wait to see Ramiro again!

Guaca: Thanks to you and Ramiro, Paize and I grew up surrounded by so much love.
And you both shared that love with my kids, too!
Bull: Ramiro and I enjoyed every minute of it, son.
My only regret's that you've never experienced the kind of love I've had with Ramiro.
Since you and Kari have broken up, I hope you'll find your special someone, too, Guaca.

After returning home, I help with the kids' homework.
I send Arvath a happy text and he asks me out, but I'm too busy at the moment.
Next, I increase our household funds to $177,027 (5 pt) and hire a butler. (4 points)
(But the butler has the mean trait, so I fire him. I need a good butler for Virtua!)

Finally free, I invite Arvath out for a date! We become good friends (5 points).
And our date even earns a gold medal without a single kiss! (6 points)
He doesn't seem that into me, though.

Wednesday

It's past midnight at the Lost Gardens of Healing and I notice the Well seems happy.
That's his happy face, right? I toss the Well a $5000 offering.

I wish for happiness but get a 4-hour Angry +2 "Where's My Happiness?" moodlet. (7 points)
Grrrr? Where's my happiness? That's the fifty-million dollar question, ain't it?

Scamp: When Guaca returns home from who knows where, it's past 3 a.m. already.
Everybody's still awake, however, so he invites Bull and the kids to a game of Party Frenzy.

Guaca: Nice job, Papa Bull! We're stomping the other team!
Bubb: You're the adults here. You oughta let us kids win!
Virtua: Bubb and I are NOT gonna let you wiiiiiinnnnnn!

Scamp: Suddenly, Bull stands and lifts his arm then crumbles to the floor.
At first, the other three don't notice when suddenly Grim arrives.

Just before being reaped, Bull briefly appears as a happy green ghost.
After a long life filled with love and joy, he'll soon be reunited with Ramiro.
Rest in peace, my beloved friend! I'm glad your final days overflowed with happiness. *sniffle, sniffle

Thursday

Scamp: We who remain miss Bull and Ramiro intensely.
Yesterday, Paize earns a promotion to Scientist 9. (8 points)
Today, Guaca and Paize naturally age up to adults, without cake.
Life goes on.

Guaca: I hire yet another butler, a squeamish one this time. (7 points)
After school's out, I become good friends with Eden Ray. (8 points)
As you can see, I'm just a sliver away from mastering Charisma.

When Scamp and I return from our walk, I chat with Virtua to max Charisma. (10 points)
The last free day of this seventh generation can now begin.
Scamp: You were a good heir, a fine father, and loving son, Guaca!

Notes
   • All this time I've been referring to the Artifacts Association as the Relics Association. Sorry!

@Shewolf13
I'm not sure why, but I really loved Bull and Ramiro together. They're my favorite couple of this dynasty so far and that probably won't change.
Yay, we're almost out of this house! I hope it's not one of those "out of the frying pan into the fire" situations, though.

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway 8.55: Knowing When to Stop
« Reply #358 on: May 16, 2018, 01:32:39 AM »

The family cemetery, next to the Lee Dynasty Museum

8.55: Knowing When to Stop

Week 39/Thursday

Virtua: Papa doesn't even pretend to care about our birthdays!
Bubb: Just for that, you should take over the narration!
Virtua: You're right, Bubb! I'm taking over!

Virtua: Ugh, I combine the worst of my parents!
I'd been hoping for Mama's beauty and Papa's normal body shape.
Instead, I'm abnormally skinny and look like my father. *sighs

On the plus side, I'm a creative bookworm with an easy aspiration: The Curator.

That's me, Virtua Lee, over the years!

Naturally, Bubb doesn't take after our parents since he's adopted. He ages up really nice!
He's an outgoing vegetarian with the Mansion Baron aspiration.
He insta-completes Mansion Baron and Fab Wealthy, so he's loaded with satisfaction. (I’m so jelly!)

Friday

After I earn enough satisfaction to buy Marketable and Creative Visionary, I ask Mama to mentor me.
Whenever I finish a painting, she runs off to watch TV like I have some contagious disease.
C'mon, Mama, don't be like that!

Like every sidekick spare, Bubb's started on Nerd Brain as his third aspiration.
Seeing Bubb and Papa in profile, I imagine Bubb is kinda glad he doesn't resemble Papa, lol.

Surprisingly, Grim shows up to fish beside our home.
Or is Grim using fishing as an excuse to hang out with Auntie Paize? She's pretty cool!

Bubb: Sis, what can I do? I need to "Own a rocket ship" next but there's no room on our lot.
Virtua: We can use the tip MarianT suggested to our founder, Liberty Lee.
Bubb: How brilliant! We buy a retail lot then place a rocket ship here!
Virtua: Yep! Thanks again, MarianT! <3

We've come to Desert Bloom Park, so Bubb can go on his five space missions.
Meanwhile, I'm toying with the idea of using fish for my collection.
But I'm not going to go crazy and insist on having 10 sturgeon or anything.

Incidentally, I was upset yesterday about my appearance but I'm feeling pretty cute today!

Bubb is such a champ!
Since he maxed Logic as a child, he's flying through his Nerd Brain aspiration.
While we fish, he finishes his five upgrades then starts on The Curator.

Saturday

After the free day ended a while ago, I sent everybody else home.
Now it's just me, my moodlet solvers, and the fishies.
I promised myself that I wouldn't obsess over my fish collection's value.
But now that I've caught a few high-value fish, it's so hard to stop!

Week 40/Monday

Well, I finally tear myself away from the Forgotten Grotto.
I'd even skipped school today to keep fishing, but I forced myself to stop fishing. Sheesh!
For three days, all I did was fish and drink moodlet solvers. I've had it!
To avoid being tempted to keep fishing, though, I'm placing my collection at the museum this evening.

By the way, Papa built a cemetery for all the family graves after moving to Willow Creek.
He couldn't retrieve our founder's gravestone, though, so he bought her this big, new one.

With Papa mentoring, I have started painting everyone's portraits.

Tuesday

Virtua: That's Mario Bello who's a neat, erratic bro.
I'm very grateful for Grandpa Bull's nimble maneuvering with Ricardo Duran.
If not for Grandpa Bull, I'd be marrying Mario and moving to Skyward Palms in Oasis Springs.

Scamp: Noooooooo!!!! That neighborhood brings back bad memories!

Wednesday

Virtua: Since I have zero Wellness skill, I can only get Bubb to do his homework by traveling to community lot.
I just don't want to take the time to learn Wellness right now.

Every vampire I meet these days is a daywalker, it seems.

I've seen those men before in the founder's photo album. They just live on and on!
The guy on left was her co-worker at The Lab; the one on the right was her landlord.
Luckily for us, they've remained homeless all these years!

Thursday

Just before I need to leave for school, I go to the museum to hang my portraits.
They're worth $19,065 and my fish collection, $12,070.
My total museum value comes to $31,135.
That's the fourth highest value among all eight museum displays so far. Not bad, not bad.

Hey, Scamp, did you hear that I'm finished with my museum stuff?
After school, I need to spend one whole day just learning some skills.
But after that, it's just you and me. Well, you and me and, maybe, Ricardo Duran.
Are you ready, Scamp? *dashes off to school

Scamp: Am I ready, she asks.  Am I ever!!!
Jungle Dawg is already ready for action!

Household Ages
Kari Lee (adult): 15 days to elder
Guacamo Lee (adult): 16 days to elder
Paize Lee (adult):  16 days to elder
Virtua Lee (teen): 6 days to teen
Bubb Lee (teen): 6 days to teen
Scamp (adult): ?

@Shewolf13
I had to dress Virtua in the baggiest clothes because she has that bizarre unattractively-skinny body shape, like her mother. Her face only looks good from certain angles, sadly.
Not sure where the Lee genetics went wrong. :(

Another beautiful museum, and another congratulations on your progress.
@LenaLJ
Thank you! Virtua has been hard to play so far because of her teen mood swings and queue dropping.
I'm hoping that's just a teen thing.
In the next update, she will be moving and I'm very excited about the completely unfurnished Chateau Frise and the birth of the Gen9 heir.
Only two more museum collections to go!  ;D

8.55: Jungle Noob

Week 40/Thursday

Jungle Dawg: This is "my week," so I'll be doing all the talking until the trip to Selvadorada ends. Woof!

I'm pretty hyped about returning to Selvadorada on Friday!
We should be leaving right after school on Friday, right?
That gives Virtua 24 hours to get stuff done.

Unfortunately, she returns from school with a Mortified +50 moodlet.
Watchette finally makes her drink a moodlet solver and Virtua even drags her feet on that!

Four hours after she gets home from school, Virtua finally gets serious about skilling.

Friday

Entering a Loud phase after school, Virtua spends a lot of time dropping queues to be mad.
Sorry to dash your optimistic hopes with my bluntness, Watchette.
But do you get the feeling that Guacamo and Virtua just trashed your gene pool?
Noooo! Does that mean Virtua's generation will be…unpleasant?

Sadly, we don't manage to arrive in Selvadorada until nearly midnight.
Not sure what took so long. Virtua didn't even get that much skilling done! Hmmph, teenagers!

Since we are a party of eight, we'll be staying at the Belomisa Field Station.

As you can see, I've invited along Virtua, Bubb, Guacamo, and Paize.
I've also invited Guacamo's friend Arthav and Bubb's classmate Kasey.
We hang at the Cantina for a while to see if Virtua can buy me a food bowl and bed, but no luck.
Back to our lodging to wait until tomorrow. Dibs on the sofa!

Saturday

The next morning, I'm eager to return to the marketplace so Virtua can buy me a bowl.
I've been surviving on treats since last night.
To my utter shock, she feeds herself before buying my bowl and feeding me. *feels disappointed

I've been thinking ahead lately to the end of this dynasty.
The final heir, it seems, only needs to create portraits and put together a museum collection.

That means that I only have one more trip to Selvadorada after this one!
Just my luck to come here with an heir who's constantly in a bad mood…
Maybe I can persuade the Gen10 heir to make one last trip!

Okay, I'll accept your peace offering since you're going through a loud phase.
And now we're friends.

Guacamo and Arthav, enjoying some quiet time together.

JD: Yo! Why are you cooking at the Belomisa Trailhead? It's almost 9 pm.
Don't you remember that the temple resets every 24 hours?
Virtua: Don't tell me what to do! I'm the heir and you're not.
JD: Oh puhleeze! I am Jungle Dawg and who are you? Jungle Noob, that's who!

JD: We press forward until reaching the temple then immediately return to the lodging.
We can start fresh tomorrow morning.

Week 41/Sunday

Virtua learned to establish dig sites before we returned home last night.
So this morning, we return to the temple with a smaller group of four (including yours truly).

Guacamo avoids an attack by fire flies with mumbo-jumbo he learned by maxing Selvadoradan Culture.

Inside the Temple of Abundance, Bubb also gets attacked by fire flies.
He avoids getting bit by using the Fire Foam in his personal inventory.
But the encounter leaves him singed for the rest of his vacation. Sorry, Bubb!

I really hate this mechanism! We run into three of these in this temple!
Poor Virtua! She activates the wrong trigger and ends up wetting herself.
Time for another moodlet solver!

In the next-to-the-last room, Virtua finally realizes that my hunger is critically low.
She summons me but then just stands there doing nothing.
Thanks so much, Guacamo, for autonomously feeding me a big treat! <3

And then I age up to an elder, so Virtua gives me both an Age-Down Treat and a big treat.

Stop zoning out, Virtua! The treasures are in the next room!
Pull on the left warrior's weapon already! It's already 8 pm!

And she finally finishes exploring the temple! It only took two whole days!
If the next heir lets me guide him, I'm pretty sure we can finish two temple runs in one weekend. *side-eyes Virtua

Why did Virtua take so long to get through the temple?
She was even skipping all the temple's dig sites along the way!
But now Virtua, Guaca, and Bubb are excavating every dig site on their way out.
Zzzzzzzzzzz

Monday

Virtua: I earn another vacation day today, so I'm never going back to high school!
Papa helps me learn several useful skills.
The days have really sped by!

Late that night, I master Vampire Lore so I can go cure Ricardo tomorrow!
Around the same time, our resident attention-hog runs away. *sighs

Tuesday

Virtua: I'm glad you're back, Scamp, but your timing is really lousy!
Don't you realize that my young adult birthday's in, like, 30 hours?

Scamp: Yeah, yeah. I'm protesting the overall quality of my recent trip to Selvadorada.
For me, it was the worst trip ever! Dig, dig, dig. Where was the fun? Where was the adventure?

That night, I visit Ricardo Duran at Chateau Frise with two goals in mind.
When I arrive at Ricardo's home, we have zero friendship since I barely know him.
So, after I cure him of vampirism, I'd like us to get to know each other.

Wednesday

Four hours later, I know that he's Neat and Childish as well as a Level 6 Chef.
He seems like a really nice guy, but it takes me until 2 am to become friends with him.
I better get home before Papa starts to worry.

When I ask Papa about Ricardo's third trait, I learn he's Good.
I can't wait to meet him again after my birthday. I wonder if he'll like me more when I'm a young adult...

While doing lab work on the vet crafting machine, I lose track of time and miss the birthday notices!
Only Bubb and Eden celebrate my birthday with me. Where are my parents?

My brother and I are young adults now!
I'm a creative, materialistic bookworm, while Bubb's an outgoing vegetarian snob.

It's time for me to go pay another visit to Ricardo to see if we've got chemistry!

Coming next: Virtua marries and moves out! The ninth-generation Lee heir is born!

You really seem to go fast with this. Congrats on Gen 9 nearly here.
And you make me happy that I dont' have the Parenthood pack already, because the mood swings don't seem fun at all.
Poor Jungle dog who don't get his adventures in Selvadora. Maybe the last heir will make a good bye trip, as it now seems so much part of the heir life.

Is Virtua's mom related to Morgan Fyres? In my game, her offspring is always that skinny, when nearly everyone else takes lot of weigh in the diverses festivals.

I don't think Virtua is too bad. You can give her an insta large potion and then have her slim down with wellness or fitness.

I hope sparks fly between Virtua and Ricardo.  And I hope Scamp likes him, too.  Maybe Ricardo will be a better (i.e. more helpful) spouse than Kari was.

Having a big, empty house to decorate sounds awesome.  You can fix it up to suit the family's needs.  Maybe skip the TV altogether.  lol.  :)

Poor Kari.  Yeah, I know, she's terrible, but she's so pretty!  Speaking of pretty, hooray for Paize!!  And of course, the lovely Virtua.  Even though she didn't take after her gorgeous mama, I think she's quite lovely.  Maybe not good at jungle adventures, but lovely just the same  ;=)

@Tynynounours
This has been a really hard challenge for me, so I've been trying to play it quickly to the end.
Virtua is the only heir who had such negative mood swings throughout her teen years. They're gone now that she's a young adult, thankfully.
I really love the Parenthood pack--the parenting socials for influencing children & teens work so well with this challenge.

As for Selvadorada, I like taking teen heirs there while they wait to move out.
The archaeology skill is so great for making money and a new heir can authenticate artifacts to take with them to the new house to sell there.
Jungle Dawg just adds a little variety to each heir's teen years.
Virtua's mother is completely unrelated to Morgan Fyres. But Merri Lee (Gen3 heir) is Morgan's daughter-in-law.
Haha, I took Virtua into CAS and pushed/puller her body into better shape without using the cas.fulleditmode. I like her so much better now. :D
By the way, your Townie Dynasty is on Generation 9, too, right?

I don't think Virtua is too bad. You can give her an insta large potion and then have her slim down with wellness or fitness.
@Shewolf13
As I wrote to Tynynounours, I pushed and pulled her shoulders, chest, hips, and derriere in CAS. She's almost voluptuous now, lol.

I hope sparks fly between Virtua and Ricardo.  And I hope Scamp likes him, too.  Maybe Ricardo will be a better (i.e. more helpful) spouse than Kari was.

@BallerinaHippo
I laughed at your comment about the TV because I hate when certain sims do nothing but watch TV, yet the working sims like to destress by playing video games so I don't want to put it away. So far so good between Virtua and Ricardo and he gets bonus points for socializing with Scamp.
Chateau Frise is a huge house! It's been fun living briefly in a lot of different houses.

Poor Kari.  Yeah, I know, she's terrible, but she's so pretty!  Speaking of pretty, hooray for Paize!!  And of course, the lovely Virtua.  Even though she didn't take after her gorgeous mama, I think she's quite lovely.  Maybe not good at jungle adventures, but lovely just the same  ;=)
@PeregrineTook
Wait until you see Virtua now. I even gave her a perky behind, lol.
Virtua was really unlucky with the teen mood swings.
Nothing like trying to whizz through a temple with an angsty teen who's dragging her feet, haha.
She's a highly-skilled sim now. I'm hoping she can reign over a good-luck generation. :D

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway 8.57: Banana Muffins
« Reply #368 on: May 23, 2018, 09:40:20 PM »

Can you guess the next heir's name?

8.57: Banana Muffins

Week 41/Thursday

Virtua: Late Wednesday night, my brother Bubb and I aged up to young adults.
It's well past midnight by the time I'm done preparing our Willow Creek house for the move.
I invite Ricardo Duran out on a date to Stargazer Lounge.
Ricardo: Wow, you look so different! Your hair! And your figure...

Ricardo has the gall to yawn while I'm chatting with him.
The rose, however, snaps the boy out of his boredom.
Come to Mama!

Ricardo and I haven't even kissed yet but I suddenly get a date goal to kiss him passionately.
We're making progress but we're taking baby steps.

Oh, you didn't know there was a party bush at the Stargazer Lounge?
You know how the challenge rules allow us to add objects to community lots at the start of the challenge?
Well, this is one of the "improvements" chosen by our watcher.
A tried and tested means of putting the oomph in a romance! Right, boyfriend?

Ricardo: I didn't realize you came with us on our date.
Scamp: Not by choice, Ricardo.
Ricardo: Where'd Virtua go? After we "emerged" from the party bush, she suddenly disappeared.
Scamp: Not to worry, Ricardo. She'll definitely be back soon.

This is soooo not the romantic start I'd envisioned for my new life with Ricardo.
However, proposing and eloping take around two or three hours, tops.
A nooboo, on the other hand, takes three whole days. I'm talking priorities here.

Ricardo: There you are! You left without a word, you know. I've been worried.
Virtua: Ooooh, how I love an autonomous smooch!

Scamp: Proposing by the party bush? Classy!
Virtua: A little moral support, please?

Scamp: Ricardo isn't the most expressive sim I've ever met.
But he is a most kind-hearted sim. Virtua and Ricardo will be good for each other.

Scamp: With the powers invested in me, I now pronounce you wife and husband.
(It's just one step above getting hitched in front of the bathroom door…)

Virtua: As soon as Scamp and I move in with Ricardo, I buy a dog bowl and bed for Scamp.
Thanks for officiating at our wedding, Scamp. You must be starving!

After moving in Papa, Auntie Paize, and Bubb, I buy a storage chest to sort my personal inventory.
I move double the plants the garden requires into the chest and sell most of the rest.
From Willow Creek, I'd brought hundreds and hundreds of Sixam plants with me.
I also have artifacts, camping mascots, and paintings to sell, plus 4 Selvadoradan treasures.
Our household funds grow from $20,245 to over $150,000. (8 points)

Scamp: It's good to see the minions hard at work, planting and watering the garden!

Virtua: Eh, I and my clubmates are hardly Scamp's minions!
Some of my clubmates are gardening and others are mopping up spilled water.
Waaaay over there, you can spot my Ricardo mopping up the pool area.
His traits? He is childish, good, and neat! Bless his sweet little heart!

All this hard cash has me itching to start on our home.
As you know, Chateau Frise currently lacks even a naked lightbulb.
Luckily for us, we can afford to both furnish and remodel at a basic level.

After finishing the first and second floors, I start fixing up the attic for my clubmates and a future butler.
Then I change my mind.
My preference is a two-story house with a basement floor.
Walking up two flights of stairs takes too long. Here's the new basement floor. Nothing fancy.

At 7 am, I'm ready to trigger our first free day by mastering Cooking.
For some reason, Papa then Bubb decide they must cook something at the exact same time as me.
Thanks to them, I can't get to the fridge until two hours later. Sheesh!

Finally, I max Homestyle Cooking at 10:10 am! (10 points)

Ricardo is a Level 6 Chef with the Best-Selling Author aspiration.
I persuade him to switch to the Author career so he can write books faster.
Thanks for mentoring him, Papa!

Meanwhile, I'm in the new Focused Room, listening to music and munching carrots.
Have you noticed that I'm looking rather va-va-voom since Wednesday?
Our watcher took me into CAS where she tugged here and there to give me some curves.
She also gave me one of her fave hairstyles. I'm feeling more confident already!

Now that the garden's been planted, my clubmates start cooking up a storm.
Enough with the camper's stew, Aarohi! Both Papa and Bubb are vegetarians!

Nothing new about the way I'm setting up house at Chateau Frise.
The only difference is that I made extra sure to arrive with lots of things to sell.
Countless numbers of authenticated artifacts, either to sell or mail back!

I'm thinking ahead to Saturday when I give birth, so I buy a massage table.
Checking Ricardo's skills shows that he has max Wellness.
When I click on my clubmates, they are also capable of giving me a fertility massage.

As the teen heir, I'd also set "play musical instruments" as a club activity.
Hopefully, my clubmates will be able to mentor our children in violin and piano.

Saturday

Scamp: The first free day went by fast, eh?
Virtua: I don't mind. I'm looking forward to being a mother.
Scamp: Thank you, Virtua.
Virtua: For being a mother?
Scamp: No, for choosing Ricardo so we could live here near the beach.
You worked so hard to furnish his house. I'm really grateful.
Virtua: Awww, Scamp! You would have done the same for me!
Scamp: Hey, we're good friends now! (1 point)

Week 42/Sunday

In the wee hours, my Fertile trait and I get a fertility massage then watch the Kids Network.
I'd thought I'd done everything right but, alas, another single birth!
After I give birth to Stud (our 9th-generation Lee heir), I immediately adopt another son, Baer.

This is the third consecutive generation with a single birth, starting with Grandpa Bull.
I'm thinking our watcher's "other challenge" has stolen the Lee mojo for multiples.
No matter! Our boys, Stud Lee and Baer Lee, will grow up to become simply fabulous!

Congrats on the new heir and his sidekick. And how weird the massage and trait didn't worked.

And great call on the jungle bush. I mostly made sure all bathrooms everywhere had gender neutral doors. And yes, gen 9 is born on my side.

Will you share the furnished house pics? I like your builds.

Virtua is looking good!  The pregnancy test during the date was hilarious.  The things heirs have to do for the challenge!

Scamp should be pleased that Virtua's first purchase after moving was for him.  So far it looks like Virtua has a great household and helpful clubmates.  Hopefully that continues.

I'm glad you found that funny! So odd how my Townie Dynasty gets so many single births!
Also very happy that you like Virtua's makeover. I'm also like her a lot now, which is nice.

Good to see Scamp and Virtua finally beign friends, you had me worried there. And yes I think your sharebeares are taking all the "mulitples" :P
@LenaLJ
Virtua is so much nicer to play without her mood swings! Scamp is a huge fan of hers now.
My Townie Dynasty has possibly been cursed! Wait until you meet the adopted boy as a toddler, haha.

Congrats on the new heir and his sidekick. And how weird the massage and trait didn't worked.

@Tynynounours
I'm really mystified by the succession of single births, but maybe that's normal and all the twins in this dynasty have been exceptional.
About gender-specific bathroom doors: I once accidentally placed a male-only bathroom door backwards so all the women would go into the bathroom stall but get stuck inside, hahaha.
Thank you for the compliment about my silly builds. I will try to add a few shots in my next update.  :D
Also, I hope you've been taking screenshots of each generation's household to share when you complete your Townie Dynasty Challenge. I would love to see them!

@BallerinaHippo
I'm glad the irony of Virtua running off in the middle of a date to take the pregnancy test was funny to you as well.
When I checked on Ricardo, he was talking to Scamp who'd come over and sat down in front of him. I thought: Yeah, that would be extremely weird date behavior in real life, hahaha.
Just for you and Stud Lee, I promise to try harder for this Townie Dynasty's last couple.
I wonder what makes some generations so difficult and others so easy to play?

A Townie Dynasty with Leeway 8.58: That Is Our Kismet
« Reply #374 on: May 25, 2018, 12:09:46 AM »

8.58: That Is Our Kismet!

Week 42/Sunday

One of the many reasons I adore Auntie Paize.
She's one of two family members who autonomously water the garden and spray for bugs.

To celebrate my Ricardo's new wardrobe, I invite him on a breakfast date to Shimuzu.

While requesting a table, I run into Ashaya Venkataraman.
He'd also been possible spouse for me but we didn't know when he'd become a young adult.
In fact, he's still a teenager. He's kind of cute but…

I'm head over heels in love with Ricardo.
He's adorably shy and modest but I like his quiet nature.
It's no surprise that he's friends with our children.
But he's also friends with my father and even Scamp.

Virtua: Thank you, Ricardo, for becoming a vampire so you could wait and marry me.
It must have been difficult to leave behind your life in Selvadorada.
Ricardo: It was hard living in that dark, empty house for months, especially after my father died.
But now my life is filled with light, love, and family. I should be thanking you.

Ricardo: Would you lighten up with the parenting tips already? We're on a date, dearest!
Virtua: Hah! We earned our gold medal about an hour ago. (4 points)
Since then, I've been smooching with you just cuz.

Scamp: Wow, Virtua! Two walks in three days! What's the occasion?
Virtua: When I was small, Grandpa Bull told me a story about you.
He said his grandfather once promised you that you'd live on the beach someday.
Scamp: Oh yeah! That was Bull's grandfather Jet Lee, the Gen4 heir!
Living in Chateau Frise with the family has been like a dream come true!

Virtua: Well, here's my promise to you. We'll stroll the beach as often as I can manage.
Scamp: Awwww, Virtua. That's so sweet of you.
Virtua: *feels the love

Monday

In the morning, I become good friends with both Stud and Baer. (6 points)
I feel so blessed with my household and club members!

Eight days ago, I received the Blessing of the Ancients from a treasure chest in Selvadorada.
And it's still being passed around among family, friends, and strangers wherever I go.
In fact, a lady sitting next to us at Shimuzu yesterday caught it from Ricardo.
Since Paize has the Blessing, I try chatting with her but it doesn't pass to me.
I wonder what triggers its transmission. Is it just random?

Everyone's doing so well! Paize brings home her third raise as an Extraterrestrial Explorer.
Both Ricardo and Bubb earn promotions today, too! (8 points)

As par for our dynasty, we are earning points too fast.
I do what must be done! (7 points)

While trying to decide whether to hire a gardener or nanny for tomorrow, I go out back.
Clubmates will tend the garden if it's selected as a club activity.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the first Lee household where family members autonomously garden?
(Talking to plants does NOT count as tending the garden!)
My garden doesn't really need tending but I hire a gardener anyway. (6 points)

Tuesday

The boys age up into adorable toddlers.
Our resident stud muffin is angelic but he's got that swagger!
Independent Baer has a mischievous look in his eye!

I'm thinking that our dynasty might be cursed now.
Three generations of single births AND three redheaded adoptees.
Is this just chance or are there larger forces at work? (Pippin?)

If the Fates are kind, Stud Lee will resemble his father, not me.
Do you think my hopes are unfounded?

As for independent Baer, he throws a fit because he doesn't like to be told what to do.
Okay, little guy, I won't ever give you potty training again.
Disciplining his fit of anger causes me to master Parenting. *sighs (8 points)
Look at the little demon spawn and his devious expression.
Just kidding. I'm sure he's just going through a phase. *crosses fingers

That's right! I've done exactly what you'd thought I would do! (7 points)
Our next free day is scheduled for Thursday, and not a day earlier!

Wednesday

Yes, my childish Ricardo occasionally plays with the boys' toys.
I don't mind. He works in the garden every day for several hours.
That frees me up to teach Stud or earn money for the household in other ways, like painting.

I decide to keep the butler another day. (6 points)

Scamp: You know, with the toddlers, I wasn't sure whether you'd still have time for me.
Virtua: Is it enough for you that we jog at the beach every other day?
Scamp: That's more walks than any other heir has done, Virtua.
I appreciate that that you're making time for me, so thanks!
Virtua: Hey, I'm enjoying out time together at the beach, too, you know!

The smile of the stud muffin. Need I say more?

Here I am, getting to know Eden Ray, who'd been a teen for around six generations.
But after our watcher moved her into a house, she aged up into a young adult. (Not sure exactly when, though)

A cat-loving insider as a teen, Eden Ray has since also become a music lover.
Sadly, I will be removing her from my club very soon.

Thursday

Early in the morning, I finally master Archaeology. (8 points)
I have such a huge backlog of unauthenticated artifacts from the Artifacts Association.
Now I can finally start catching up!

I'm also glad to finally master Handiness! (10 points)
Up to now, I've just been replacing any broken objects to avoid the points!
Okay, folks, time to start our free day!

Stud: Mama, after I wake up, a mysterious force pulls me to the kitchen.
There, I see a lady with lavender skin and long curly hair. Her hair is black like mine.
She whispers to me: "You and I were born to fall deeply in love. That is our kismet."

Mama, what does "kismet" mean?
