'11 Days In Bridgeport', an open movie project FINISHED
« on: February 01, 2011, 07:47:44 PM »
I bring you Bridgeport, in a way you probably haven't seen it before, just because we don't have speed 6 in The Sims 3 (yet).
Please let me know what you think about it. If you love it, if you hate it, I really want to know, just because I can learn from you, no matter who you are. :)
11 Days in Bridgeport, made in just 5.

Yeah, me to. I am dying to see what you all people think about it. I've tried to do something that nobody ever before had done in a Sims game. At least, not that I could find on Youtube.

Dispite my awful, slow internet, I manged to see at least half of your beautiful video, Leto.
Is it made on Speed 3? It looks faster, but maybe not.

I think it's faster.  He mentioned speed 6 in the first post.  He's got some movie making tricks up his sleeve.

Very impressive.  You did a wonderful job and Bridgeport looks so pretty.  EA should employ you to advertise their games.

All the way through, I loved the music and wondered what it was.  How awesome that it's the Sims 3 theme music slowed down!

Exactly guys. It is indeed The Sims 3 Main Music and I have choosen it because in slow down it is still recognziable, even when you can't place it in the first place. In normal speed The Sims 3 Main Music has been desined to make people happy and enthousiast to buy or play the game right away. And I think they succeeded.
I found out that in slow motion this music will turn out to be an ambient style and that really surprised me. First I was shocked about how beautifull it was in a total non expected way. I just closed my eyes and immediatly saw this movie playing in front of me. Since then, I couldn't sleep anymore untill it was finally finished.
It was a real pain to make actually, not because it would be difficult but because my editing sofware didn't work with me and I had to strugle myself in ways I haven't been through before and in my direct environment there is no-one who could help me with this.
I'm glad if you all liked it, because that was exactly what I was hoping for.

Beautifully done, Leto. It really makes Bridgeport come to life. You're right, I've never seen anything quite like it. I'll link this one on the guide for all the visitors to see :)

I feel stupid for not "getting" it. There's clearly some philosophy behind it, but the "time goes by very fast", "life gets wasted in big cities", "living for work and working for life", and "evil corporations will take over the world" thoughts seemed too obvious.

If Pam hadn't said it, I wouldn't know this was The Sims's theme song. It actually got me thinking that maybe they recorded it slowly, perhaps in the same speed as the video, and then made it faster to create that jolly one we know. Is this why so many people fail when trying to replicate the music with their instruments, or are they just bad anyway and I'm being crazy?
