Chance cards

Is there any chance (pardon the pun) that there would be a guide for the chance cards? It would be nice to know what you could get from a chance card, if you are willing to risk the debuff if you don't get the good one. I surprised myself by deciding to 'reach in' to a hole (I think it was a hole, didn't read it all the way through really - as tends to happen after playing for a long while) rather than leaving it, and got the sword of the chinchilla, and I think it was $1000 simoles. For a while I thought that one outcome was bad, the other good, but then when I took a chance when drinking water from the sulfur smelling water, and got fresh breath buff, 4 energy potions and delicious buff. It's not entirely dependent on my focus either, because I can still sometimes get the bad outcome from full focus.

I've finally got around to reading the whole thread for offering up information, and noticed that Kai has made a start on this info. Whilst screenshots are good for later if Carl adds this to the guide, they are not very reader friendly for the time being.

Update on Random encounters:

Finding a Bear
A meadow of Belladona
Buying Books
Rescuing Children
Catching a Chinchilla
Spying on Elves
Finding a injured Merchant
Helping a Pixie
The Sping of youth
Spotting a Unicorn

Forest: (Hunt only)

Stepping in a hole
Rustling in the bush

Village Shoppe:

Finding a beggar
Helping a Child
Buying Churdles Potion
Obtaining Herb
Attacked by Hoods
Buying a Lute
Mob an Elf girl
Mother being Mugged
Make a Wager
Buying a Book (Same as forest)

Patrolling the Sea:

Attack Pirates
Find an Island
Spot a Mermaid
Find some Treasure

The Pitt:

Roll away
Run and Hide

As before, I have begun to upload screenshots with the choice and possible outcomes to the following link:

I don't have every outcome yet, but I'm constantly updating the images.

Also, it seems that the encounters in the pit may be limited to once per hero, (once per kingdom even?) and after jumping into the pitt so many times you begin to get love hearts pouring out of the pitt when you jump in instead of it attacking you.

I'm going to post what I started writing out, based on what Kai has got here, so it is easier to find. There is a lot of valuable information in that thread, but it would be easier to find in a thread of its own. I usually check all the thread titles (since the forum isn't too big yet) before posting, and do a google search to see if I can find the relevant info, and this didn't come up.

Ok, does anyone have tips on copy-paste for tables/tabs? Nothing I do seems to put it in here in order :( I'm not very used to using code for stuff like this. I've only just got used to the font things! I did it in word, and also in excel, hoping for an easy copy paste, and so I don't time out and lose it all.

Text doesn't transfer very well between Word / Excel and the forum format.

But you can always try Ctrl A (select all) Ctrl C (copy) and Ctrl V (paste)

Yeah, I'm very familiar with most keyboard shortcuts, but the trouble is it doesn't all line up :( No point writing it up if it is just as hard to read as the teeny tiny pictures. I have to rethink the format and copy-paste it in little bits I think. I might have a look at a wiki page in edit mode and see if I can get some ideas for the code to use.

Edit: Got the bb code I need... just gonna take a long time to type it all out. Will post as soon as it is done :)

Edit: Posted what I have sofar. I will add them as I go. If you have any you want to add that I haven't got here, please feel free to post them, and I'll add them. That will be lots at this stage!

Stellar info. Using what Kai Heilos had, I wanted to build something similar. I will get down with this early next week, as this is one of the final pages I intend to add to the guide. I'll help fill in information here and mirror it on the guide.

For the record, I have encountered the Unicorn at least 20 times and failed every single time. I want Unicornucopia! As a spit recipe, it has to be awesome.

Wow, thanks Carl :D If I haven't mentioned before, you do a GREAT job with your guide and forum. I've used it for sims 2 and 3, and it has been so thorough that I haven't needed to post in the past (I usually don't buy a game so soon after release).

I've killed the unicorn twice sofar, but before I had started writing out the results. I can't be certain exactly of all of them, so I haven't put it in, but I know you get 2 unicorn meat, 1 unicorn horn, the 'adreneline rush' buff, and another buff I think, but not sure. Usually I watch it. Killing such an extaordinary creature just seems wrong to me (even though it's only a game) but after getting the chinchilla sword I was inspired to try some things differently.

I just got a prompt about seeing a beggar when coming back from the village. I tried to take a screenshot of it so I could remember exactly what it said, but apparently that didn't work. Anyway I pushed him aside and got a "worried" debuff.

my general rule of thumb is if my hero has the money to spend I will always purchase/donate whatever is asked in a chance card.  Seems to get me more positives than negatives.  But I have noticed that they are 'chancy' for sure, I have had a highly focused King see that pixie struggling its about a 50% chance if 'helping' her results in me drowning her, or getting a nice reward.  So I think those chance situations are a roll of the dice in general.  On a personal note, they are one of my favorite parts of the game.

I should send you my merchant.  Poor thing.  Whatever she chooses is always the wrong thing.  Truly, I have never known a sim to be so unlucky.  She spends most of her life in the red.

I got around to adding some to this today. Can't wait to build this page. A lot of people land on the guide looking for the various items you get as rewards for these.

If I may, when you get the option to give 10 simoles to the beggar - do it. I've done it twice and only got positive results (but then again, that's only twice). You get "Watcher's Charity" buff, some others (which I cannot remember right now) and I think XP and Renown.
