I am hating the new memory system, it's so ugly and inappropriate! >:( The generic ones without pictures are bland, grey eye sores, why can't they be colourful and cute like in the Sims 2? :'( And then there all the 'mastered skill' pics of my sims in their undies! My sims don't dress up all nice to master skills, they get up in the early morning in their night wear, maybe grab a bite and then work their butts off 'til the sun rises. EA doesn't understand skillers at all it seems... :P ::)

My couple knew this little girl, Pauline Alto, daughter of it had to be Holly and someone because Vita and Nick died, but anyways in their memories, it says they taught her how to walk. I know for a fact they haven't even seen her except in their contacts!  ::)

The memories are starting to be a real pain! I don't deactivate, because I want some of them; but, repeats "Wohooed with Celebrity" (spouse) are nonsense.

Lol! This thing is hilarious! All the Sims in the Pieces household got "Seen the ghost of Reeses Pieces" even when they did not see her. She was in another room. ;D

Yeah in my dynasty, the gen 2 spare taught the gen 3 spare how to talk and everyone got a memory saying that they had taught him to talk.

What I can't believe is how the size of my saved games are ballooning up since the memories. I have a saved game that I played before Generations that spanned over three months play time. It's 120MB. I have a new game that's only a week along in play and it's already 72MB.

In every family i make, i allways have one sim with cooking/gardening/fishing. But with generations its a lethal memories combo as its got him capped in no time.
As managing the scrapbook is so tedious, ive just altered the game so it stopped making memories at all.

Btw my current family savesize is 303mb. That is after 4 days of playing. Getting a bit silly really compared to pre-generations.  >:(

This doesn't stop amusing me! So far all my Sims got around twenty memories (in two days only) - some are funny (skinny dipped in hot tub, rode in a limo, missed work), but others are a bit annoying (caught red herring, caught great red herring, caught excellent red herring, caught perfect red herring), but thank God there is the "remove memory" button. ;D But the save file sizes did become huge. Only two days playing in Bridgeport and already 75MB. Though, it was 60 before. 15MB isn't much, is it? :-\

K, so I'm debating with myself whether or not to turn off these memories. I don't actually have Generations, I get this feature from the new patch and it seems the only difference with my version from all of yours is that I get a max of 300 instead of 400. These memories annoy me greatly. Not just the file size, but also the fact that really important things (like birthday parties) don't show up! Oh, Lori doesn't remember her lovely birthday party with her family and friends and lots of decorations but she does remember going shopping for two eggs so she could catch a rainbow trout? -_- And don't even get me started on the fact that the game takes the screenshot for you, and if you are working multiple sims and you are with one sim while another has a memory there is actually no photo there. Just an ugly grey square. Unless EA make some changes to this feature, like notifying us of when the memory is going to happen so we can prepare a screenshot, as well as marking priority on what the memories should be of, I'm switching off.. :(

*Rant over* ;D

i play big families so it would cost me more time cleaning their scrapbooks then actualy playing the game. And clicking away 300+ memories one by one , no way.  :P

This makes me wonder; do you think this can affect the gameplay somehow? I've read about older games starting to glitch / get corrupted when the file size gets too big. Wouldn't it happen sooner now with the memories?

My opinion on memories is... well, I have not even looked at their scrapbooks once, yet. I've had the notifications on because I wanted to share some of them on the site to get the freebies... Like most of you have said, this would be a nice feature without all those "pointless" memories every few minutes.

My Dynasty Heir's Spouse moved into the Town when they were Teens. His first Memories are about the Prom and going to the Park. He is now a Quarter through YA and has 60 Memories already. That is just tedious, I hardly remember Yesterday! Lol!  ;D

When you play with a Townie family where they are already adults, you get "went to work for first time" when they are at level 7 of their career; etc.  Or when you have them play the guitar, you get "learned to play guitar" and they are already at level 10! It's very annoying.

Nah, it isn't actually. :P It's really annoying when the family is your pre-Generations dynasty. Like, supermaxed cooking and fishing, yet, finally "caught very first fish"!
