Sims 3 and Cheating
« on: January 29, 2010, 11:35:07 AM »
I didn't know where to post this so I hope it's in the right place... I am extremely sorry, Pam, if this is in the wrong place.......anyway.....
I have found that getting sims into a romantic relationship is incredibly simple if both are single. I have yet to try it with any sims that are dating someone or married. Does it take longer and is it more difficult to do with attached sims? I'd like one of my sims to have a baby with Hank Goddard... there doesn't need to be any residual relationship, just a baby. I don't really care if his relationship with Pauline takes a hit since I loathe her.
Has anyone successfully broken up any sims and how long did it take?

At first when I read through your whole post, I'm like "what does any of this have to do with cheating?" But, I was thinking cheat codes. Anyway, now that my brain is thoroughly awake...

It takes longer, no question about it. With my own experience if one of my Sims starts making moves too early on an attached Sim they'll get the negative signs quickly. But, you definitely can do it. You'll actually see a Social like "Ask Sim to break up with X."

yes, you can break them up. in RL i would never do it which is why i was reluctant at first, but then i realized this wasn't RL, so since then I've been doing ALOT of things i would normally never do! my favorite one was my Gold Digger. lol that was her name too! anyways, she fell hard (yea right) for Gunther Goth, so i stole him right out from under poor Cornelia lol then i locked him in a room! for one whole day he was having the "wedding" good moodlet and the "very hungry" bad moodlet at the same time! it was hilarious!!!!

Well, that "Ask Sim to break up with X" interaction is so simple, so my extremely charismatic sim does it all the time to couples eventhough he didn't really want to date her. So he just leaves them there and walks away with that moodlet evil sims get for seeing dispair. Now that's funny! It always cheers the bloke up on a bad day! :D :D

For a normal Sim without Charisma, you just need to be at least friends (maybe good friends) before trying any romantic moves.  They are usually receptive to romance if you've got a nicely filled relationship bar to start with.  Then if the romance goes well, then you'll get the ask to break up option.

I think Pauline is probably used to it.  Hank Goddard is a good catch.  :D

Hank's a babe. Pauline is a drip. Plus I think Hank would have better looking children (and the kids will have noses!) than with icky Pauline........

I was once bored so I went to every house and broke up every paired up sims there. It usually takes about 2 or 3 days if you don't have a Flirty or Hopeless Romantic Sim.

That's funny!  I broke up Gunther and Cornelia Goth once, but then he went and aged to Elderly and I lost interest in him.  He ended up married to Anne Song and had a couple of kids with her.  His name became Gunther Song.

Oh, no!  I normally play in Sunset Valley.  I played Riverview recently to see how the updates have improved the town, but my preference is definitely Sunset Valley.  I love the beach and ocean, especially with my spiffy new graphics card that makes it look so real!  I can see the fish under the water!

I have found that if the other sim has the 'flirty' trait, they are pretty much putty in your hands after 'hello', particularly if your sim has it too!

True...............I had one sim who had both hopeless romantic and flirty traits. She could have had anyone in town(and she did...lol)but I never broke up anyone.I kind of wish I had.
I like the idea of going house to house and being a homewrecker.I am going to torture Blair Wainwright when I play again..hehehehehe....and then I will get Hank to dump no nose Pauline. This is going to be fun!
