Teen Party
« on: July 07, 2011, 01:10:16 PM »
I normally never let the parents go on the free vacation opportunity because I've read that often the parents get glitched after that, but yesterday I accidentally accepted the event and decided to go with it. Shortly after the parents left, the teens (triplets) get the wish to throw a teen party. I had the teens throw the party right after school. The party had a good number of guests and everyone seemed to have fun. There was pizza and hot beverages.

As you all know, children and teens have a pretty hectic schedule during the weekdays, so they usually get tired and sleepy around 7 or 8 PM. I had my triplets hopped up on coffee so they could stay up for the party.

After 9 PM, the party guests and my teen hosts started to pass out, which amused me to no end.

Midnite came and the party guests showed no signs of leaving. Since it was a school night, I decided to break the party up shortly after midnite. This apparently made all the teen guests angry and they left booing and calling the party lame.

The wish to throw a teen party never completed for any of the triplets. Instead, my teen host got the lame party negative moodlet.  I am guessing that the party has to run all night or until the police or parents break it up for it to be a good party. Anyone else have experience with throwing teen parties?

Maybe it's their formal outfit. LOL

Must. Try. This. Now.

I thought it would be funny to give them school uniforms, so I did using the "Edit Sim in CAS" option that you can get when clicking on a sim while having cheats enabled.

I had my Sims party like a rock star! It was awesome. We ordered pizza and made quick drinks put a dance floor it looked like an every age club. My party WAS about to get stopped by the police man when he, himself started dancing! Ha! How things turn out. But they did get grounded because the parents go home.  :-[

My teen has thrown a couple of parties now.  The first one got broken up by the police.  She got into trouble for it later when her brothers/guardians arrived home because the food on the party table had gone off. The second party was going along fine when all the teen guests started running off.  I then found that her brothers had come home early.  She was in trouble for that one too.  Both her parties were judged as 'awesome' though so she didn't mind getting grounded. ;D

So did the parents ever return from their trip abroad? Did the glitch hit your game? I never was able to try teen party no matter how much I wanted to because Im afraid of this glitch.  ???

In my current game, the parents returned, but they remained greyed out and I was unable to control them. But that was fixed quickly by moving the family out for a moment and then moving them back in.

Why don't you just save before you do it Athena?  It is a shame to miss out on the fun of the game because you are afraid of what might happen.  A glitch is a glitch and can happen to anyone anytime.  I always have at least four save games and I alternate between them.  If anything happens or if I make a bad decision, I can just go back to the last one and not lose too much game time.

My parents never returned. So I had the teen doing whatever she wanted for 3 days before exiting with out saving. Since there were no parents, she just kept having parties. There was no one to scold her.

I agree. It's like not to travel because you are afraid of the bug. Save frequently, guys. I know what I am saying, I learned the hard way. Lol. :)

I also save constantly, because of the problem with non-returning parents.
