Currently, I'm working on two projects.
One is a creepy house that makes efficient use of the
Gothique Sets, which is almost done. Instead of going with the biggest lot and building an extravagant mansion, I showed some restraint and built a much smaller home on a 40x40 lot. I made heavy use of Fog Emitters (to create...fog, of all things lol), as well as a few WA buydebug items (and you know what
that means lol). I'm currently down to landscaping on that one, and I'm doing a fair job if I do say so myself.
The other is an eco-friendly home that uses the Butterfly Pavilion from Late Night as the main structure of the house. I knew it was going to be a daunting task, but I wasn't exactly prepared for the reality of it. It's essentially an outdoor build, and you'd think that would make it easier, but I've discovered (and overcome) a few inherent issues related to working with that particular game item. Landscaping (which as you know isn't my strong suit) plays a very important role in this build, so I'm learning quite a bit about it.
Both of these projects are "live builds," meaning that I'm not building them in edit town mode: there are Sims living in them and I'm using the money they earn to build. Although, I did cheat a little on the creepy house by building the shell of the house and moving a sim in using the "freerealestate" cheat lol.
I'll post a few screen shots of the "Bio-Home" in the Building and Construction showboat thread soon, simply because I want to make sure I'm on the right track with the landscaping part.
