I think you need to include the rule about using up the consumables by moving time. Otherwise people could feel free to take those things to a new home. I know I would.

Regarding using up consumables (if you add it in the revised rule), would we be allowed to sell the consumable, or do we have to use it? (reading it, eating it, fishing with it, for example)

I have officially changed the rules to my idea earlier today. I received some nice positive feedback via PM. Thank you. I agree it's simpler and should cover everything. As far as addressing consumables — it is unnecessary. Always remember...if something is NOT covered in the rules...all together now...you can do it. ;)

The most important thing to remember is you simply cannot change anything about your house/lot with the exception of the 4 items purchased per house from Buy mode. If you remember to do that, then exploits are not an issue at all.

Still confused about anything? PM me.

What about the skill objects from World Adventures, do they count toward the two items per house total?

My understanding is that they would not. However, you can only place the 4 items from Buy Mode, so you couldn't do anything with the nectar maker or the martial arts equipment.

My understanding is that you are purchasing them, and they're not consumables, so they do count.

I think I understand the rules as MarianT: we can buy as many of those items as we want... But we can never place them because we don't buy them in Buy mode, but at a register. Does it make sense?

This question probably needs clarification from Metro.

Before the rules were edited for clarity and simplicity, the rule about buying things stated that sims were allowed to 'buy' and place two items from any source: rabbit holes, consignment store, world adventure vendors, lifetime rewards, career rewards and buy mode (I think that's it?). Exceptions are consumables such as food (must be used up when you move), recipes and music scores. From memory, bait did not qualify as an exception. Does that help?

You are correct in your interpretation, BellaClo. As usual. ;) I can see where players not being allowed to even use World Adventures skilling objects would be a limiting issue. Do not want to go into more detail than that. I suppose I could make exceptions, but then more rules would need to be added. I really would rather not do that.

On a different note I'll be out of town for a week. My family is leaving bright and early tomorrow morning for Florida. Happy holidays to all of you. I will check in off and on from my in-laws computer, but hopefully other knowledgeable players can cover for me in the Tournament and Dynasty threads. Remember — if I do not step in, then that means someone's question was already correctly answered. I read everything. :)

Take care everyone. Talk to you soon.
