My ragdoll keeps disappearing!

Okay, this has happened 3 times. I get my doll. I go to a different house. I come back to the "ragdoll house". My doll is gone! Nowhere on property and not in inventory. Last time I stayed at same house. Parents went on free vacation when I wasn't paying enough attention (had highspeed on). When they were on vacation, my house glitched, all my sims icons disappeared, but I was able to switch houses, so I did. I went back to the house that gliched, parents were home everyone was choosable, and the dad had the toddler who owned the doll at the library. I look in toddlers inventory and the doll wasn't there! I look through the house and the doll isn't there either! I send the dad and kid home. The doll is still not there. I give up. I am trying again to get one. Why does my doll keep disappearing on my toddlers? I want a friend

You might think back to it being a good thing that the doll disappeared one day.

Anything you leave in a toddler's inventory will be zapped out of existence when you leave that house to play another.  It has something to do with them going into hibernation when their parents leave the house to go to work etc.

I have had the same problem. It is as Figwit said. I have got around it by always leaving the dolls out of inventory (on the floor somewhere usually) before leaving the family. Then they are usually still there when i return.

I think that the inventories for all inactive Sims are always emptied by the game, whether they are toddler or older. So when you switch households, the one you leave becomes inactive and the inventories of its member are wiped out.

I don't think that is correct. I have played with switching houses many times, and have only noticed the IF dolls going missing from inventories.
